Ooops! I hope 'pedants' here did not think I meant them when I wrote

'the link is poking a bit of fun at those people who enjoy pointing out others mistakes!'

I was referring to the comedians et al mentioned in the link.

I know that it is genuinely irritating to some people (DH is a prime example) when grammatical errors /spellings appear again and again.. all I am saying is it does not particularly bother me..though I appreciate the need for a set of rules re language!

I only get cross with 'off of'... and I do not know why that bothers me! Maybe I am a pedant after all because come to think of it I also have very strong views on how to cook sprouts....

Leave we pedants alone..? Whenever I hear that I think "wee" pedants - do they mean me? (5'2") grin

That's why I put the 'us' first, gracesmum - I'm 5' 7" so couldn't really include myself in the wee bit...grin

gracesmum Sun 20-Jan-13 23:17:37

And I know you were just being ironic of course grin

Ana Sun 20-Jan-13 23:23:49

No...I just thought I'd better put both words unless I got accused of getting it wrong...confused
