My local ASDA is advertising for staff. Big sign up telling applicants "the adventure begins here". Bless them for trying but really, is working for ASDA an adventure? The word "inspiring" is much overused and generally abused too. Any other examples?

It irritates me when Tesco say 'every little helps' it is grammatically incorrect and doesn't mean much.

There was an article in a health magazine that said that fewer than half of us can understand the jargon that comes with our medication, so GPs need to spend more time explaining in simple language.

"Journey" in any context other than getting from A to B - ugh!shock

Oh another one
"Your M and S"
No I am NOT a shareholder!!!!! Now Waitrose has started doing it as well.

Every time I use the escalator up to the next floor in our local M&S I float past the message Plan A. Because there is no Plan B.

Well there certainly should be, because Plan A isn't working...hmm

Ana grin

Plan B is the snappy name for their environmental policy Ana. It has been for several years now. There was a long way to go when they started - and I last time I looked they are still selling convenience food in aluminium baking trays. (aluminium smelting uses vast quantities of energy and I for one don't have recycling of aluminium in my area.)
You have obviously not been concentrating on their corporate messages ana Keep up!! After all it is "your m and s" grin To busy being "inspired" by their new collections and window displays maybe (this terminology from a customer feedback questionnaire)

Ana Tue 24-Jun-14 11:14:42

Don't you mean Plan A, Jess?

KatyK Tue 24-Jun-14 18:43:49

I hate that your M & S as well, it's patronising. I feel like saying 'if it's my M & S, can I just come in and help myself then?'

JessM Tue 24-Jun-14 21:09:29

Oh maybe. A Shows the impact doesn't it [shrug] grin

Ana Tue 24-Jun-14 21:22:26

No. Plan A is what you were referring to. Have you actually read the policy Jess? confused

There is no Plan B.

Ana Tue 24-Jun-14 21:23:24

Shrug all you want - your post didn't make sense!
