Hame, if he was in a DIY store. That paint was generally known then as thixotropic, and there was a lot of publicity about this new paint that was less messy than the existing types (except when used by someone like me, I always get more paint on myself than on the doors)

I went into a DIY shop once, 35 years ago, and asked for thixotropic paint. They looked bemused - but sent for the boss. He knew exactly what I meant. I now realise that it was an unusual request but it seemed quite normal to me. It must have come from science lessons.

If word gets out, no doubt some celeb or other will name their unfortunate child Thixotropy
