They all drive me mad, but then so did /does "at this moment in time" which cropped up in the 1960s. I clearly remember my English teacher telling us that there was nothing wrong with the word "now"

I agree kitty. I particularly dislike 'two times' rather than twice - it makes me shout Bloody BBC which annoys DH Ah!!

Does this drive anyone else mad? I miss whole news items etc because I rant about this so much when I hear it.

What happened to 'as well as I can' or 'to the best of my ability'?
