Twice bloody twice, she said "the proof is in the pudding".

The phrase, as evry fule nos, (sic) is "The proof of the pudding is in the eating"!

Why do so many people get this wrong?

Prove, originally meant 'to test' (from the Old French - oooh posh! smile) just as we 'prove' bread, to make sure the yeast is good.
Pudding was a mixture of meat, fruit and spices, a bit like a sausage and sometimes the meat was off.

Well it seems her parents wasted a lot of money then if people feel she had no edukashun!

She attended Bedales one of the more expensive boarding schools! shock

Jalima1108 Thu 10-Jan-19 23:29:21

Isn't Bedales rather non-conformist, nurturing individuality and initiative?

Does that include re-writing the old sayings and proverbs?

Love Kirsty/Kirstie, she's the reason my kitchen is fitted out with drawers instead of cupboards. Life changing! (Okay perhaps a tad dramatic but it did make a huge difference.) She can say anything she likes about pudding, I'll share it with her.
