Stripy or stripey anyone ?

I would use stripy.

I would use stripey but I’ve seen stripy written so I guess take your pick and use whichever you want.

I would spell it with the ‘e’.

The other version reads as ‘strippy’ to me.

I know less now than I did when I was young ! How did that happen ?
So is it stripy or stripey ? What do you write ?
I must admit I don’t write this word often. I would probably use ‘striped’ but my 3 year olds showed me their new book about stripy socks and it didn’t look right to me. Google wasn’t much help. Which one do you think is correct in the UK ?
