Yes I remember it well Grannmarie

Just seen the best one yet - Holden & Carr dramatically transformed the depilated flat, must have been a hairy experience.

'When shall we three meet again?'

My neighbour told me she had been to the doctor's with painful asteroids.

😂😂😂

I once had a neighbour who announced over coffee that she couldn't get her 2 year old to stop biting his foreskin.😱 Cue stunned silence followed by a squawky sounding 'what?' from me. it transpired she meant that he nibbled the skin round the nail on his index finger. Think about it!

My friend's wound was exasperated by an infection.

Katek

Perhaps you need a little restbite from all this sodapop

‘Restbite’ is one I often used to see on a forum for carers of people with dementia, where I was a regular visitor for several years.

However for once, even I couldn’t get too pedantically worked up about it, when the poor things really were desperate for a ‘bite’ of ‘rest’.

PinkCosmos Fri 24-Feb-23 09:48:24

*there - sorry

PinkCosmos Fri 24-Feb-23 09:41:42

I hope their will be no reaper cushions from this post

Sparklefizz Fri 24-Feb-23 09:23:20

A friend who used to send me very long emails always ended with "Sorry for this epitaph"

Procreation is the thief of time.

It may be wrong- but procreating means no more time for piece and quite

Aveline Fri 24-Feb-23 08:37:40

Sorry to be pedantic (!) but 'careen' is a good word. It means uncontrolled speed so one could easily careen around a corner.

grandMattie Fri 24-Feb-23 06:17:51

They are malapropisms, but infuriating nonetheless. It is sad that some become part of general vocabulary.

grandMattie Fri 24-Feb-23 06:16:33

They were in such a hurry that they “careened” round the corner.

BigBertha1 Fri 24-Feb-23 06:00:01

My golf pro writes to me about placing the ball next to my 'right heal'.

Nansypansy Fri 24-Feb-23 04:50:46

Aren’t these malapropisms?🤔 my friend is the queen of malapropisms!

absent Fri 24-Feb-23 04:26:13
