New puppy

My cairn terrior has got a friend who is a labrador and he is a guide dog.
One minute he is so good guiding his owner and as soon as his owner says go and play with Andie they both run around and enjoy themselves.
It is a case of the big and the small.

I envy you as well Trish, they are lovely little dogs. My old vet used to say they were 'people dogs' which I think could mean they love people or are people, whichever takes your fancy. I have had two at different times. My little ruby died three years ago and I still miss her. Have fun

I envy you your Cavalier, I am sure he will soon be well trained. I had two at one time, black and tan, and DD2 had a ruby. Is yours a Blenheim (brown and white)? We did our research before having our first when the children were young. They are found to be one of the most suitable breeds and have a gentle nature. They always pulled on the lead though. I had a coupling chain to attach them to one lead, and they used to bang their heads together like the 'clacker' toy -do you remember them, with two balls on joined strings!
You will make lots of new friends when out walking, dogs make a good conversation opener.
