I have a beautiful Pembroke welsh Corfu. While I adore him, has anyone got any tips about losing his winter coat? It's none stop at this time of the year, and brushing doesn't really help as his coat is so thick. Any ideas?

Vacuum cleaner? Our family boxer back in the 1950s just loved having the handheld Hoover run over her.

My neighbour takes his moulting dog to the dog parlour they wash and brush till all the hair is gone she gets enough to knit a blanket..lol.. he comes back about 10lbs lighter... not sure how much that would cost mind..

Is this a Corgi (iPad version) or a breed I haven't heard of?
Tried hoovering our black labrador many years aog, she just peed on the floor so that was the last time I tried that.
BTW what do you mean, "winter coat"? Our Grace only moults 12 months out of any one year!

Our dog moults all year round too. A local dog hairdresser sold me a metal comb for the job. It works well but is still a daily task.

Thanks for all the tips, he was scared of the Hoover(baby) so it's back to the brush and comb. He's a Pembroke Welsh Corfu with quite a thick ruff around his neck. That's where most of the hair comes from.

I use Vitapet moult and coat conditioner to reduce casting by my German Shepherds,I also recently got a Furminator, best brush I have ever had, removes hairs quickly and efficiently .My dog owning friends all now have Furminators.
