We still have our rescue dog, the big black staffy, who is quite old. He still goes for his short walks with Victoria who goes on her mobility cart. I can't walk with him but sometimes try to tag along behind. Benny likes to go out on to the drive then round the lawn and back into the house. He turns round and repeats that little walk time and time again. We have a problem with the wetter weather in that the lawn gets very muddy and he trails it into the house. We have cured that problem by putting down some interlocking rubber mats on the lawn He also slips on the painted front door step and falls down. We have cured that with some anti-slip tape which stops him skidding. The biggest project we did was for his failing eyesight. He is great in the daylight but when dusk approaches he whines and cries because he can't see as well.. We have helped him here by hanging out of the bedroom window, we can't climb ladders, and fitting an LED floodlight with sensor. Now when he goes out in the dark the sensor switches on the floodlight and he can do his circuit up the drive and back down and onto the rubber lawn.. We have mats in the house to keep his paws dry if it is raining.

Your Benny is a very lucky boy to have such a caring family.
We haven't gone to those lengths but we do have special beds upstairs and down for our dogs. They all have different food for medical reasons, we have hard floors with no rugs as one dog had bladder problems for a time. We love them dearly.

We have Bumble, we put three lights along the front of our house, just below the guttering. Our dog is 18, she is deaf and has cataracts, must be quite blind in one eye. She also has arthritis in her hips, and walks like "the very biggest spotty dog you ever did see". She has almost finished a course of steroids which have helped immensely. The trouble we are having is the incontinence. I'm thinking of buying doggie incontinence pants for her but putting it off because most of the time she stills lets us know when she wants out. Elderly dogs are a problem.
