A worrying weekend ahead.

Baz has a tumour. It's suddenly appeared from his abdomen. Lucky to get vet appt at once but end result is op on Monday. She wanted him to be assessed by a cardiologist and /or other tests but we decided that the whole situation was so incredibly stressful for him that we'd rather the vet just got on with it. No alternative anyway. It's going to be a worrying weekend. He's so happy to be home that I'm glad he's to have the least intrusive treatment. We've accepted the gamble re his heart and an anaesthetic.

I hope you sleep well tonight, obviously after giving Baz a big goodnight but

Vet just phoned. It's been a Trichoblastoma - a benign tumour! He's OK. Zippity do da! Phew.
I've spoken to Baz about it and he's promised not to do it again! Am so happy.

Fingers crossed for good results for Baz from me too and glad to hear he's finally zonked. My two are 11 and 21 - Baz is a spring chicken Jane10 ?

Grannyben Tue 01-Jan-19 18:41:25

I am reading your updates with my heart in my mouth. Fingers crossed for Baz

I hope Baz settles down after his ordeal and results are good on Thursday. Pets are such a major part of the family.

I was interested in the likelihood of the antidote to the anaesthetic keeping poor Baz buzzing yesterday. He's conked out just now. First time he's seemed relaxed since we picked him up yesterday.

grandtanteJE65 Tue 01-Jan-19 17:36:29

Glad to hear the good news. hope the test results will be good too. Happy New Year, Baz and Jane!

NfkDumpling Tue 01-Jan-19 08:28:16

Missed this thread. So glad he seems to have turned the corner Jane. Eight is no age for a cat so he should be pretty resilient and in his prime. Fingers crossed that the results are good.

megan123 Tue 01-Jan-19 08:24:13

glad

megan123 Tue 01-Jan-19 08:23:55

So to hear he is settled now Jane. Keep it up Baz you are doing well, brave boy x

Jane10 Tue 01-Jan-19 07:20:14

Oh Beau! What a treat you must have been for the nurses.
He must have had a good night. He was glad to see me this morning. He's now curled up beside me on the sofa.

If it's anything like human anaesthetic Jane10 he won't be able to sleep - both times I have had procedures I have been awake until 3am the next morning at least - I think they overdo it with the 'antidote' side of anaesthetics now - I was loudly singing whilst coming round from one of them ?

Thanks all. He's still very unsettled, following me about. I wish he'd settle down and sleep. He usually sleeps 18+ hours a day but not today apparently!
