Our 14.5 year old cat, spent several days in the Vet Hospital and came home with tablets to be taken once a day for 30 days. We were dreading giving her the tablets daily, as she is very clever at waiting a while and secretly spitting them back out. It's always an ordeal for her and for us.
An angel (in the form of a Veterinary Nurse) introduced us to EasyPill, which is a small stick of soft, meaty-smelling, putty-type stuff. You break off a small piece and bury the tablet in the middle of the putty and feed it to the cat (hope this is making some sense).
Our cat absolutely loves it and chomps it (and the pill) straight down. We behave as if we are giving her a treat and she gets really excited. It's such an easy way to give her the medication and she is making an excellent recovery.
EasyPill is available on line at about £1.50 per stick, which lasts 4/5 days.
Others may already know of this method, but it's been such a revelation to us ... I thought it worth sharing, in case anyone else is struggling with their cats and tablets.
