I’ve fed my dogs on homemade food for some time but do know that it’s difficult to feed cats a proper balanced diet. So my present cat has always had the jellied slush which is supermarket food.
His nice little tins (recyclable) of Gourmet contain 4% meat and 7% protein. And loads of rubbish.
So now I’m cooking human meat and he also shares a tin of sardines with the dog twice a week. He gets the hard-to-provide minerals and vitamins from good quality dried food at bedtime.
The surprising thing is that this better diet costs no more than junk food from Whiskas or Felix, it’s about £1 a day.
Raw meat would be even better but he won’t eat it.
