We used to have several cats, one of whom was fond of a slice of banana.
We would hold that cat back, while putting a piece of banana down for the others to sniff, then let her eat it as the rest looked astonished.

I used to have a toy poodle who loved butter. We had to lock it away as she would steal it and bury it in the most obscure places. Memories of maggot ridden lumps of butter found in the bottom of the wardrobe - yuk!
She also loved a drink of tea and would bark and walk around the table on her back legs until we got up and made a pot!
My BIL had a toy poodle who loved melon, she would go bersek if she saw anyone eating it and didn't get any.

But I didn't pick up on any racism - in fact, I'm probably guilty of adding to it with my 'circumcision' comment.

One of our cats loved chocolate, which I know can be bad for dogs but obviously not for cats! Tabitha used to Demolish crumbs from chocolate cake or biscuits off the floor. When she needed painkillers and antibiotics after an operation I mixed the crushed tablets with drinking chocolate and she swallowed it all quite happily

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, apologies if so, I've only read bits and pieces.

Ham and other pig products are actually very bad for dogs - far too high a salt content.

That's why you never get dog (or cat) food advertised as 'pork flavour' or whatever.

My last dog (adopted) was Welsh, I think that's why he ignored everything I said because I only speak English.

Why is it racist? Seriously why? Would it be racist if Phoenix had said her dog was Scottish as it liked eating haggis and wearing a kilt?
IMO it is doing a disservice to the cause of defeating racism to bring it into this kind of jokey thread.

Our last dog (RIP) adored raw carrot, and the hard stalks of e.g. white cabbage or cauliflower.
One dog loved raw swede and carrot and he used to like cat biscuits rather than dog biscuits.

My first thought was circumcision too. Glad it's not that!

I had a cat which used to steal grated cheese. I could never leave an uncovered bowl on the table or worktop because she would jump up and steal it.

My dog likes raw red pepper and raw carrots, cooked green beans and she does like pork, very much!

We had a spaniel who ate anything - half a pound of butter my DM had left to warm on the fireplace; he cleared the bottom layer of a nice afternoon tea I set out on a trolley for guests etc.
Another dog sulked after Christmas and would not eat anything except turkey.

oh Fanny I don't think dogs actually have foreskins! My friends dog occasionally (ahem) "leaves the lid off his lipstick" but being of a delicate nature, I don't look too closely
