What personality type is your cat?

Our Molly is the gentlest cat imaginable. She has never bitten or scratched anyone. However, she is quite nervous, and hates being picked up. She was a rescue kitten from the RSPCA after being found wondering the streets of our local city in a terrible state. That said, she will happily jump on your lap. I think after her experiences, she likes to be the one in control.

Shinamae, my cat is the same, she will lie in wait on the landing and wait for me to come upstairs and grabs my hand on the handrail. Her bites use to draw blood but now she just rests her teeth on my hand, it’s a sign of affection the vet told me.

They are Aveline. They're actually economic (cat food) migrants from China. I foolishly adopted them while living there and then couldn't part with them. Paid a small fortune to move them here.

Mine is feisty and unpredictable.

She's a little sweetie. And is trying hard to train my DGS to be quiet, kind and patient with animals. The one on the right is just terrified of DGS.

Our Toby is definitely neurotic! He is quite nervous and runs and hides under the stairs when the window cleaner comes.
He will swipe at you if you walk the wrong way, and bites without any provocation. I do love him though.

Ours were all born here but are all very different.

Kiwi, is all black, 12 years old and quite demanding.

Maisie is a gentle soul and follows DH around devotedly.

Her daughter, Minnie, is neurotic and stand offish unless she wants feeding or it is bedtime.

So many beautiful cats.

My current 4 cats don't fit neatly into those categories. Three of them are sisters aged 4 but they have very different personalities. One is a total nutter, always into mischief but very affectionate. One is laid back and lazy but again, very sweet natured. One is not a lap cat but very gentle. And one (the oldest at 18) is a bit grumpy. Every cat is a different personality, like people are.

Here's our Monty. He was two when he came to live with us after being rehomed twice. I dont know all the circumstances but his previous owner had died. He can't tolerate any loud noise and disappears into the garden when AC and teenage GC visit. When we first got him he disappeared up the chimney for a day! He's obviously relaxed somewhat as this photo shows.

I have two cats. They are sisters. One spends most of her time indoors, but the other can't make her mind up what she wants to do. She howls to get in the front door and then after eating she goes through the cat flap in the back door and then heads round to the front again and does the same thing again. I get the feeling she doesn't like her sister! If I ever lock the cat flap on a cold night to keep her in she is furious and does a big protest poo! This has been going on for years so I doubt she is going to change now!

Ebony is definately neurotic. Rescued at 9 months with a litter of weaned healthy kits, she was just a bag of bones herself. It was mutual love at first sight when we met at a CPL rescue centre. She's 8 now, and still only trusts me, she hides when we get visitors. She does get brave if it's someone she knows and likes and comes out to greet them. In 8 years I have never known her bite or scratch anyone (including vets). She's an indoor girl with a big catio for fresh air and sunbathing. She is definately the centre of my universe, and I think I am of hers.
