Does anyone have any experience of this?
It seems a frightful growing trend.

I typed out a long, very angry, post and it has disappeared.
Try again.

This is appalling, puppies bred and taken away from their mothers at six weeks. Enduring up to ten sessions of yoga a day, deprived of water and sleep, all for the enjoyment of very stupid, self-indulgent people with more money than sense.

These place must be shut down and the practice should be stopped immediately.
It's utter cruelty.

Stupid, unthinking animal cruelty.
These places need to be shut down and the puppies found good homes well away from anyone who has anything to do with this business including the customers.

A petition has just begun to stop this practice:

That's awful. Haven't clicked on any of the links but have signed the petition.

Outrageous ! Animal cruelty.

Hetty58 Mon 03-Jul-23 23:30:51

Signed - clearly cruelty that needs to be banned.

Blondiescot Tue 04-Jul-23 07:26:26

I think this is absolutely horrendous - and it does seem to be part of a sadly growing trend for animals to be treated as some kind of 'accessory', novelty or similar. It's cruelty - plain and simple, and should be stopped. No dog deserves this.

tickingbird Tue 04-Jul-23 08:03:07

That people are so stupid and unthinking absolutely boils my blood. How this is allowed is beyond me. I’m appalled.

sassysaysso Tue 04-Jul-23 08:21:24

It wouldn't be appropriate or enhance socialisation skills for toddlers to wander around an adult yoga class so why such young puppies?

LRavenscroft Tue 04-Jul-23 08:55:55

Just another example of animal cruelty for the pleasure of stupid people. How can someone concentrate on a yoga position with little puppies running around? How can little puppies be kept without food or water from their mothers for someone's profit. Typical of our 'diseased' modern society.

henetha Tue 04-Jul-23 09:29:38

This is absolutely appalling and should be stopped immediately. How can people be so stupid and so unkind.

sodapop Tue 04-Jul-23 13:03:00

I saw this on TV last night, what were the puppies owners thinking ? Obviously ££££. I don't think the people participating in the yoga were unkind necessarily as they were not aware how often the puppies were exploited. The people running the classes however should be punished along with the owners. Poor little pups.

BlueBelle Tue 04-Jul-23 14:12:06

People are idiots
They are taken from puppy farms etc much too young and terrified they all need prosecuting (I don’t mean the participants although they must all be stupid to not question or realise)
I get so angry about some of these things happening nowadays

SachaMac Tue 04-Jul-23 14:19:29

Just saw the awful story about puppy yoga on the lunch time news with footage taken by an undercover reporter.

Those poor tiny puppies had no access to water (apparently they don’t want them peeing everywhere) they were woken up when they were all huddled together trying to sleep and were being manhandled and dropped by idiots in Lycra. Some had been subjected to this from 6 weeks old!! Cruel and disgusting and should be banned.

MrsKen33 Wed 05-Jul-23 05:11:31

Oh for goodness sake. How very silly.

TerriBull Wed 05-Jul-23 06:12:35

Dreadful! Surely those who participate in such sessions must know how detrimental these are to the animals' welfare, how could anyone feel comfortable, knowing these poor puppies have no access to water just for starters shock how detrimental is that for any living creature? Ridiculously indulgent whilst simultaneously being horribly abusive to these poor little creatures. Will sign the petition.

Well said

Dianehillbilly1957 Wed 05-Jul-23 14:03:48

Just signed and shared. Total utter cruelty, what humans can come up with for their own pleasures with scant regard for other living creatures beggars belief!!!

Sassanach512 Wed 05-Jul-23 14:30:36

I just can't get my head around the reason for having puppies running around while trying to do a yoga class where is the sense in it? A puppy shouldn't leave it's mother till 8-9 weeks old and like a human baby, it sleeps most of the day because it needs to. To constantly pick these little pups up and deny them water and rest is criminal in my book and the money grabbing b@#&*@#s who run these classes need a rocket where the sun don't shine angry

Gundy Wed 05-Jul-23 14:35:11

This is animal abuse!!!!
In my country perpetrators are getting prosecuted for this cruelty - and rightly so.
These operations oftentimes are being shut down too.

Unfortunately there are humans out there with little regard for life. They are low-lifes.

Tears for the little ones.

Am appalled that this is allowed to carry on. While I don't think the individuals who pay to attend puppy yoga are intentionally cruel I fear they must be very self absorbed and selfish not to realise that puppies should not be treated in this way. An animal is not an accessory nor is it a toy. I do believe that those who run such classes need to be prosecuted and the practice banned.

GrandmaSeaDragon Wed 05-Jul-23 22:11:56

I missed seeing the television reports yesterday, but from my experience with our latest puppy, no reputable breeder would allow a puppy to be removed from their mum until at least 8 weeks, and at 9 weeks, our puppy spent most of his time asleep or dozing, eating tiny meals regularly and emptying out the other end! You’re not supposed to allow them to mix with other dogs until they’ve had their inoculations which start at 12 weeks. I’ve never heard it said that puppies need to be socialised with humans at 6 weeks. So how on earth can this ever be justified? And why would anyone want to practice yoga like this anyway. Ridiculous.

Shropshirelass Thu 06-Jul-23 09:47:18

It is outrageous, parliament are looking at banning it. I had never heard of it until this week, who ever thought this was a good thing to do? Just a money spinner at the expense of cute puppies. Disgraceful.

Summerfly Thu 06-Jul-23 10:48:35

Signed! Anything to make a quick buck. The breeders who are taking their puppies along to these sessions should have their licenses revoked. Dreadful to see the pups trying to sleep. 😢
