Vets diagnosis wrong??

Thursday evening not even ..

Has she been though long grass seed areas? Could be a lodged seed. The heats got to my sprocker earlier and she started to wobble on her walk.

Oh yes she has been through long grass on her training lead..and thought I'd been thorough re removing seeds from her 🤦‍♀️

Those dart like grass seeds from horsetail grass can enter ears, nose and throat and irritate. I hope it’s nothing like this. ☹️

Could it be the intense heat, do you think? Our dog has been soooo sleepy. He hates the heat. He hides away in the coolest rooms.

My old dog was susceptible to kennel cough. After a few bouts the vet recommended that we had her immunised each year. It definitely helped to reduce the frequency of her catching it.
I hope your dog improves soon.

It does sound like kennel cough and there’s a lot going around at the moment, but no harm in ringing vet again if you’re still worried on Monday.

My sisters small dog was eating grass yesterday and vomited up green bile thankfully she seems better today

Joseann she just isnt her normal bouncy self.
.usually has two treats in a morning...doesn't want them...goto cook her some chicken shortly..
I've never encountered kennel cough..so know nothing about it...but she coughed a little on Thursday..again twice on Friday, saw vet who diagnosed her
..but she hasn't coughed since...I sort of feel that her throat is bothering her, maybe mouth also, she wants a lot of loving bless her...shes drinking water thankfully but will only have it from the hosepipe 🤦‍♀️wouldn't it be easier if dogs could talk and say how they feel.

Oops memory lapse...I have encountered kennel cough before..long long time ago.
We got a rescue dog ,she had kennel cough,coughing horrendously, I actually caught it off her and I was quite poorly..how could I forget that 🤦‍♀️

Another vets visit to look down her throat I guess. Or try an inflamitory first

I’d go back to the vet if she’s still lethargic and needing encouragement to eat /drink - my dogs had kennel cough once and coughed loudly, bit like a seal but otherwise were perfectly ok.
Maybe it’s like any virus and affects us all differently. The heat could be a factor but one impact on my two dogs has been repeated filling of their 2 water bowls during the day

I’ve experienced kennel cough before - one dog just gave the occasional cough, but was off colour.
Remember to isolate, limit exercise and done let your dog off leash, or around others. We actually used to sit in the car with the dog until the receptionist indicated the Vet was ready, then DH would carry the animal into the Surgery. It’s highly contagious.

I don't know if you live on the coast, but salt poisoning does exactly that if your dog has been in the sea? Our young boy was disoriented and just staring, and he couldn't walk straight. He had swallowed too much salt water because he was swimming with his ball in his mouth.

She has hardly coughed..just not herself at all..I had the last appointment of the day on Friday so that no other animals around.
We dont live by the sea...but on the edge of the moors..
I'm going to speak to the vet tomorrow morning..he said if any worries just call him...and it is worrying when our normally crazy,funny,energetic Cocker is seemingly so off colour..

Follow your instincts - you know she is unwell. Callistemon has a valid point regarding an emergency vet. Failing that it might worthwhile visiting another veterinary practice tomorrow. Good luck
