There seems to be a lot of dog lovers on GN so I thought I'd start a thread on favourite breed .
I've had lots of breeds in my life from a tiny Toy Poodle to a Great Dane , German Shepherd, tiny JR, tiny Papillon, Labrador, and my absolute favourite the Rough Collie.
I've had 9 collie's, got 2 atm. I love most dogs but the Rough is the love of my life . So obedient, loving and kind.

What's your favourite ?

I love all breeds, but my favourite at the moment is our Bassett Fauve de Bretagne.

I’ve had dogs all my life. The best were Cavalier King Charles spaniels but they have terrible health problems so should not be bred or sold.
I also love pugs, who have been bred to look cute but can’t breathe, so another breed I wouldn’t have now.
My present dog is a pug/Jack Russell cross who hates all other dogs and barks at every sound. I love her but she’s the most difficult dog I’ve ever met.

Working springers and the odd (mental) cocker. Love them.

I grew up with a corgi as our family dog. There doesn't appear to be so many these days. When my children were small we had a rescue dog of the Heinz 57 variety. He would sit in the doll's pram under a blanket and be quite happy being pushed around the back garden. My family, all grown up, have Spaniels. Cockers and Springers. Intelligent, lively characters with the most beautiful faces. I love them all.

Our Heinz was a wonderful dog, but now my favourite is a working cocker spaniel.

Border Terriers every time. Super intelligent and very friendly little dogs. We’ve had 2 over 25 years. No dog for over 2 years now but DS who lives near us has a lovely little Cockapoo. I like all dogs.

Cavalier King Charles spaniels.

Beautiful dogs with wonderful natures. I've had a Blenheim and a Black and Tan [it broke my heart when she died] in the past.

CKC. I think spaniels are lovely dogs but esp the ruby and black & tan CKC’s. We’ve had two tricolours, both girls.

I've had a tricolour Cavalier girl. She was always busy, busy, busy . Lovely little dogs .

The most loving, adventurous and intelligent dog I ever had was a jack russell/chihuaha/possibly corgi or something else mix up rescue dog. She would walk all day, loved everyone and everything and I'm sure she could read my mind as she'd anticipate what I was going to say to her before I said it. I still miss her so much every day.

I love most breeds except the 'handbag' variety! Of the ones I have owned my favourite is the Gordon Setter. Our rescue one was bit bonkers but full of character.

Springer spaniels, always busy!

My second favourite is rescue.

Pointers without a doubt.

Golden retrievers are my absolute favourite. My aunt and uncle had two when I was small and we went everywhere together, many adventures on the farm.

My own Jack Russells were great little dogs, and again, many adventures were had.

Now we have people in the family whose asthma is triggered by fur and feathers so of the dogs I could have now I think it would be a miniature Schnauzer.

Always had Labradors. Loved everyone single one of them. Black or yellow, male or female, all very different personality, all have been wonderful. Loving, loyal, easy to train. Best ever.

I'm very fond of two dogs owned by friends. One is a well trained working cocker spaniel who makes a walk in the woods an adventure. The other is a Norfolk terrier who has bags of personality for one so small.

I love all dogs, but we've always had Labradors - male, black Labs, to be precise. Labs will always have a very special place in my heart.

Many years ago I has a gorgeous yellow Labrador.
He grew into a real gentleman of dogs .
