This is my first week of 'testing'! Was previously using Lift and Luminate serum and so will be very interested to see over the next few weeks how this compares. Am using Lift and Luminate day/night creams over the serum. Just wonder when you will develop something for the neck, apart from strong tape behind the ears!!!!!!!!

Boots No7 feedback thread – win a No7 skincare hamper worth £100 NOW CLOSED
(266 Posts)This thread is for the 100 gransnetters who have been chosen to trial No7 Restore & Renew Day & Night serum.
Here’s what Boots had to say, “No7 is the UK’s leading skincare brand. NEW No7 Restore& Renew Day & Night Serum is specifically formulated for more mature skin and actively targets the five key signs of ageing: wrinkles, lack of firmness, uneven pigmentation, fragility and dull skin. In clinical trials, after four weeks of use, both light-reflecting characteristics and levels of natural moisture return to similar levels of younger skin. New Restore & Renew Day & Night Serum is our fourth clinically proven serum meaning that we have a clinically proven serum for every stage of a woman’s life. We have had great results from our clinical trial and user testing, but we’d love to hear what gransnetters think about the product as well.”
We’d like you to use the product each day and night for at least four weeks, but preferably for the full eight weeks. Feel free to post your feedback on this thread as often as you like while using the serums.
When you're ready please answer the following questions:
Q1: What were your overall impressions of No7 Restore & Renew Day & Night serum?
Q2. After using Restore & Renew Day & Night serum for four weeks, how significantly has your skin changed in the following areas? If so please give details.
· Lines and wrinkles
· Firmness
· Pigmentation
· Fragility
· Skin’s radiance
Q3. The RRP for No7 Restore & Renew Day & Night serum is £24.95, do you think you'd be likely to buy the product again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the serums to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Everyone who adds their feedback to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a No7 skincare bundle worth over £100.
Please note, Boots may use any comments posted on this thread in marketing, editorial and/or promotional material so please only post if you are happy with this.
Thanks and good luck,
GNHQ
I've been using the serums for a week now. I agree with lots of other Gransnetters that they make the skin soft and smooth for applying moisturiser. I had a free sample a couple of years ago and did wonder whether to splash out and buy some more. I'm still undecided as they are rather expensive. Try not to examine my skin and face in a strong light and am waiting for compliments from other people. (The TV adverts seem to imply that will happen)!
tegan most definitely protect and survive was to protect us against the nuclear holocaust.
After a week I find my skin is feeling smoother, I only use a tiny amount of the serum as it goes a long way and my moisturiser goes on easier. Am liking it
I'm always cautious about making statements as to changes brought about to texture of skin, level of hydration, reduction in lines, etc. when trying new products. We can convince ourselves that products are making a difference but where's the 'control' aspect? That's why I've taken 'before' pictures and will take 'after' pictures. No interim observations
Many thanks for the opportunity to trial this product
Overall impressions so far are that it is very effective and more importantly, for me, does not irritate. I have very difficult skin with a propensity to roseacre. This product has not given me any problems.
I have not yet used it for four weeks but am sure that lines and wrinkles are reduced. my skin feels firmer, the skin appears a better colour, and generally better altogether.
The product is expensive, but noticed it was included in the 3 for 2 promotion. It would be more attractive if it wasn't so expensive, but if it works it is perhaps worth it.
So many products make wild claims but so far so good with this one, I will update this after the four weeks of use
I am tempted to purchase some for my daughter, though hers will be for a different age range.

The experts at Boots and No7 have spoken and their answers to our Q&A are ready and waiting here
Me and the serum, the story so far
I like the packaging, the fact that the tubes for day and night are different colours so I don't have to get specs out to see which is which. I like the small nozzle for delivering just the right amount on to the finger tip so there's no waste. I like the texture.
It's too soon to write anything about what it does to my skin, but so far, so good.
I've been using the Day and Night Serum for 2 weeks now. I really like the smooth way it goes onto the skin. In particular I am hoping it will improve the front of my neck which is always a bit crepey. It's not sticky which is a good thing and it may be my imagination but I feel my neck is improving a bit. Time will tell.
As other participant have said I like the two colours of the tubes, it makes it easy to know which to use. As regards the price, if £24.95 is for both tubes and it really makes a difference, I would pay it. After all, it's once every 4-6 weeks, can't see it lasting 8 weeks though.
I'll wait till I have done the full trial before I say if I would recommend it but it's looking positive at the moment.
When the tube looks empty I always cut it open and get a good few more uses out of it. I bought it in a bottle once and couldn't do that. I find that I use quite a lot of it at first and then, as the tube empties I become more careful with it [which I should do at the start].
Nightowl - you are not the only scruff
. I suspect that I will have lots of night cream left by the time I finish the day cream.
I find the serums make my skin feel softer, smoother and less 'tight' but I can see no discernable difference in my fine lines. I doubt I would buy the product as I am not disciplined enough to use the evening serum regularly. I wonder if the day version would work on its own?
These serums are really pleasant to use. Not greasy but gentle and after 5 days and nights my skin feels softer. At first I used my normal day moisturiser and make-up on top but did get a few spots breaking out so cut down on the amount of all three and now my skin is clearing. I still have sensitive skin and am prone to "teenage" spots at 68 years old! I am very hopeful that these products are helping and will keep you informed.
kitty and nightowl - because I've spent the day in bed
I've only just put the 'day' serum on (well, it is still day time, is it not?)
Hopefully by the time I am ready for bed, enough time would have elapsed before I use the 'night' serum.
I felt as if I had a chest infection coming on, but perhaps because I stayed in bed, I feel fine. So, I'm just faking now, because husband is looking after me so well.
Thank you boots for my sample I have been using the serums for the last week and a half and I am amazed how soft and dewy my skin feels cannot see much difference in my lines as yet but will report at the end of four weeks but I am very impressed so far
Two weeks in, almost, and I am loving the serum. It goes on smoothly and makes my moisturiser feels nicer when going on. My skin does feel smoother and the small lines, particularly on the side I do not sleep, are lessened. I tend to have slightly more lines on the side I sleep on.
I do not want the serum to run out. I do use serum and moisturiser every night as a rule (unfortunately not No 7) as I have found the cost limiting.
Thank you for the opportunity to try this wonderful product.
Will keep posting as time goes on.
flower same here! I also have tiny* little crepey lines in the "hollow" of my cheek (but they're not hollow
) only on the side I sleep on, so that's what I'm keeping an eye on, for signs of improvement. *invisible to the naked eye says husband.
I'm getting the hang of exactly how much I need, so I am not using it "sparingly" because I am interested in how long it lasts if I use the proper amount so to speak. About a pea sized measure does for me.
I like the feel of it on my skin and it is not greasy or oily. Good product, I agree and I am glad of the chance to use it.
Has anyone ever bought a silk pillow case; they're supposed to not dry your hair/skin out overnight. I've often meant to try one [although worried that I might slip off it
].
Now into the second week of using both serums. I must say that my skin does feel nice and soft - even when I wake up first thing in the morning. I have not noticed any significant change to the appearance of my skin although it does seem to be a little brighter. I am looking for forward to seeing more results after the 4 week period.
One thought has occurred to me. Is it best to wait until the Night/Day Serum dries before putting the moisturiser on, as surely the moisturiser will dilute the serum?
tegan I've looked at buying silk pillowcases but then think I couldn't be bothered because (a) expensive (b) you'd need several - one in the wash, one on the pillow etc and (c) what about matching sheets? (I couldn't really care less but husband gets twitchy if things don't match, he can't cope with 'eclectic') LOL.
I have just finished my serums and they only lasted 2 weeks, therefore I was a little disappointed as I couldn't really judge the benefits. My moisturiser and night cream did glide on easier but no difference to the wrinkles. I have also developed a red rash on my face and perhaps this is due to these serums or not I do not know. This is the first Boots No 7 product I have not liked and will not buy but I will continue using the No 7 moisturiser, cleanser etc.
I'm on my 3rd week of using the serum and although it goes on nicely and my skin does feel softer I can't actually see any difference to the dry patch I have , the many 'freckles' and the wrinkles they just all look the same. I'll continue till I've used it all but I doubt I would go and buy any to be honest.
Grannyknot:£35 at John Lewis
; didn't realise they were that expensive. Duvet covers definately a no no as I'm sure they would just slip off the bed. May treat myself to one pillow case just to see if it works [ie don't look so crumpled in the morning; me that is].
Week two of my testing and I am noticing that my skin does feel firmer. A dry patch on my cheek has also disappeared. Don't really like the strong cheap perfume smell but will keep using it for two more weeks (if it lasts that long)
