This is the feedback thread for the Gransnet users who have been testing the new Balneum Dry Skin and Itch Relief Lotion.

Thank you for the opportunity to try this, I enjoyed using the product and that it was unscented. A little lotion goes a long a way, and was absorbed very quick, leaving a light sheen on my skin. I applied it after my shower each morning. My skin felt very soft after use.

I have itchy, very dry skin on my shins and this definitely calmed the itch down, and by the 3rd day of use, I did not notice the itch at all. The dryness has improved considerably and now my legs do look much better from using this.

Yes I would recommend Balneum Lotion.

I was very satisfied with the product.
I used it on my legs and elbows where it reduced dryness, leaving my skin soft.
I will use it and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Thank you for the opportunity to try Balneum Dry Skin and Itch Relief Lotion. Being a lotion I found it was very easy to apply and absorbed instantly into the skin, it wasn't greasy or sticky which I have found some creams/lotions to be. I decided to test it as an all over the body moisturiser rather that just target the dry and itchy areas. I was very impressed with the results, my skin felt silky smooth and well hydrated. I also found it calmed the itching. I will definitely continue to use it and will also be recommending it to family and friends with skin problems.

1. How satisfied were you with Balneum Dry Skin and Itch Relief Lotion?
Very satisfied - I've got a triple whammy of dry skin conditions because of an underactive thyroid, plus menopausal dryness with a smattering of eczema for good measure. Balneum Dry Skin and Itch Relief Lotion really helped soothe and moisturise my skin and for once I didn't wake up feeling itchy and got a decent night's sleep - bonus!

2. Did Balneum Dry Skin and Itch Relief Lotion improve your skin's condition? Were there any parts of the body you felt it worked best on?

Yes, the lotion really helped and I was amazed how quickly it was absorbed. My arms and legs are the most problematic and the skin stayed moisturised and looked much better. My eczema on my hands really subsided after the first application.
3. Will you continue using Balneum Dry Skin and Itch Relief Lotion following this test?
Yes I definitely will - would like a larger container!
4. Would you recommend Balneum Dry Skin and Itch Relief Lotion?
Yes - I'm amazed how good it is.

I was very happy to try this product as I suffer from dry skin and occasional patches of eczema. It was a lovely consistency and a little bit went a long way which would make it a more cost effective option depending on the price. It was really effective on a patch of stubborn dry skin on my back clearing it altogether over a few days. I also found it to be quite soothing and long lasting after application.

Would have preferred Balneum lotion to be a bit thicker as it’s quite runny. My eczema causes me to itch at times, and this lotion eased that so I had some relief from the usual itch, scratch, itch cycle. It also helped soften the dry patches of skin on my arms and other parts of my body. Balneum lotion is fragrance free, and after trialling it I was pleasantly surprised that it actually worked better than some of the more expensive well known brands. Great to use as an after bath or shower lotion and I will definitely be using it from now on. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Balneum lotion to my family and friends. Thank you for the opportunity of trialling this !!

Overall I am satisfied with the lotion.
It has helped the itching and dryness on my arms and legs. I am disappointed that it hasn't improved the psoriasis on my hands. It stung when I tried it on them several times.
I would recommend it and buy it as a general soothing, anti itch moisturiser.

nanahil Fri 11-Oct-19 21:36:59

Thank you for the opportunity to test the Balneum Lotion..
Initially I thought it thin, however it was very easy to apply.
I was very satisfied with the product, it did improve my skin condition especially on my legs. I will continue to use it and will recommend it.

1. I am very pleased with Balneum, in fact it is the best product I have used on my skin in years.
2. It moisturised my skin very well all over particularly on my legs and feet where the skin is extra dry. It helped my eczema tremendously.
3. I will definately continue to use it after the trial and will probably purchase it from Amazon every month or so.
4. I would very highly recommend it.

I was very pleased to be able to try this lotion, but I found it rather runny and it didn't absorb easily. It helped a little with itching but not with dryness

Donnylover Fri 11-Oct-19 21:11:01

Have only been using for a week as that's when it turned up. So far very happy with it and will continue to use it. Easy to apply and non-greasy (always a plus to me!). I have very dry, scabby patches on my elbows and this does seem to have smoothed the skin out but it's only been a week so hopefully it can clear it up altogether.
Would recommend happily.

1. I am very happy with the lotion
2. Yes, especially on my legs.
3. Yes because it works on my dry itchy skin.
4. Yes, I recommended it to my children already.

grandma60 Fri 11-Oct-19 20:46:35

This cream is lovely. I have been using it all over but it is particularly good on my chest as well behind my ears an hairline as these are the areas affected by my three times a week visits to our local swimming pool. The thin texture is especially good to use around the hairline as it reaches my scalp rather than sticking to my hair.

NanaPlenty Fri 11-Oct-19 20:44:06

Great product which really improves the appearance of dry skin straight away. Feels light and silky on the skin and not at all greasy. Would recommend.

Chrissie61 Fri 11-Oct-19 20:41:23

very satisfied with this product. I am used to using lotions/creams with a thicker consistency but was really surprised how such a small amount of this lotion moisturised the skin.
It was nice to be fragrance free and no chemical smells.
I used it mainly on my legs as they do get very dry patches, I felt it really made a difference and as days went by I found I was using slightly less each application.
I would certainly purchase this again and think the price tag is justified by the small amount needed each application.
I have recommended this to my brother who has sandpaper hands and suffers from dry itchy skin on his arms and upper back.

mumu54 Fri 11-Oct-19 20:39:46

I found the Balneum lotion very easy to apply, only a small niggle with opening the lid as it seems really stiff at times (probably more to do with my arthritic hands). It is absorbed incredibly quickly and the lack of fragrance is a huge plus for me. The skin on my right shin is very, very dry and feels really well moisturised now. I will definitely carry on using it as my skin gets very dry all over with the colder weather approaching.
I will also recommend it to all of my friends. Highly impressed.

daisymai Fri 11-Oct-19 20:35:40

My daughter has dry itchy skin and is at times prone to eczema on her legs and arms. After using BALNEUM for a few days she noticed a visable difference in the texture of her skin which felt more comfortable with applying this lotion. I will now buy this lotion as it hydrates her skin much more effectively than any other ones she has used previously. Also, unlike so many other lotions it absorbs easily into the skin without leaving a greasy residue.

theprovinciallady Fri 11-Oct-19 20:31:16

1. Overall I can take this or leave it and so can't particularly recommend this lotion.
2. I used it mostly on my arms and hands and found that although it was quickly absorbed it didn't do much for my skin. I tried to use it on my back but it was too runny to stay where I applied it. I did notice that it was good at relieving itching but it seems much too thin a cream for my dry, eczema prone skin.
3. I was glad to get the opportunity to try this as my eczema always flares up as the weather changes and it can get expensive trying creams and lotions; I think I'll keep what's left in reserve, maybe even in the fridge for those very itchy moments but otherwise I won't continue using it. I've already gone back to E45, Diprobase, Zero Cream and Dermalex.
4. Not really, it just isn't quite good enough to tackle my eczema and realistically lots of other creams and lotions do deal with itching.
Sorry, this is probably not what you hoped to hear, but I think this might be okay for people with skin that doesn't usually need extra moisturizing. I don't think it's any good for people who have eczema or psoriasis as the lotion is not sufficiently concentrated.
