DP having a lie in so I start to make some boiled eggs for myself and DS. DP surfaces so I tell him he can have my egg because I was not that bothered. How long has it been on? he asks. I told him to look at the timer next to the cooker to which he replied I don't use a timer I don't know how they work! This man was a manager of over 100 staff ! I told him to stop being so bl####y awkward at which point by stomped off saying he did not want the egg!angry

I should have followed your example Marelli .that made me laugh! And yes Feetle he did tell me where to stick it! I would have offered him breakfast if there had been any sign of life but he likes to lie in on Sunday. It is my first Sunday not working for months so I wanted to get up and moving .DP has 3 older sisters and a doting mother and suffers from "little Prince syndrome"

They just are.
Last week we had DGS ( age 7 full on) While he was here I had telephone call from DD to sat DGD was in A&E with broken toe.
While all this was going on I heard OHs phone go with a text. He said that his friend had got the car he was bidding on on EBay. Did I give a stuff!!
I didn't say anything, my brain on more important things.
When all had calmed down, DD back from hospital, DGS taken home I could tell there was an atmosphere. When I asked what was wrong, I was asked why I ignored him when he told me about his friends car.
They truly are from another planet sometimes.

My OH brings me breakfast in bed every day (only cereal!). It started when was in plaster and I have done nothing to break the habit!

Another planet indeed petra! - I am sure you were very patient!

A lady I used to work for had lived happily with her partner for several years, then they got married! After their first day back at work he came home and demanded to know where his dinner was, as he expected his WIFE to have it waiting on the table for him. She duly served up his dinner and threw it at the wall. He didn't try that one again.

I have a cup of tea every morning in bed. I usually make a quick escape to downstairs though 'just in case'. Feel 'safer' there, I swear they get worse the older they get. Shouldn't complain though. tbuwink

I long ago came to the conclusion that there is a lot to be said for the single life. My ex never, during our marriage, brought me tea or breakfast in bed. By contrast, my Dad brought Mum tea and cereal in bed every morning and the dog was allowed to lick the cereal bowl.

Last week my OH asked me if I wanted a hot cross bun and then served it up un-toasted and buttered!!! What part of the name did he not understand?

rosesarered Sat 19-Apr-14 19:31:27

tbushock untoasted and unbuttered. tut tut.

My husband decided he wasn't going to eat pork any more as, he claimed, pigs are intelligent creatures. When, on another day, I made myself a bacon sandwich and cheese on toast for him, he complained that he would have liked bacon. But pigs are intelligent, I reminded him - apparently, the statement wasn't meant to include bacon or sausage confused

It's genetic!
Females are XX
Males are XY!
It's therefore obvious that they are genetically challenged!tbugrin

The thing that really makes me homicidal is when DH asks me for a drink or something to eat and then tells me it tastes so much nicer if someone else makes it for you!!! In 43 years of marriage I think he has probably made me about 6 cups of tea, but as he makes rather mediocre tea I've never made much fuss about it.

So good to read about these lovely, loved, imperfect men! Mine fits that bill, without a doubt.

Only on gransnet could a boiled egg turn into a bushel on Page1.
I'm scared to turn to P2 in case the bushel has turned into a dagger!
If only he had said, 'you have it darling' this thread would not exist.

My husband wanted to 'look after " me when recently I had a minor dental operation .... He sat faithfully by my side ... Not doing anything for two whole days when I dragged myself off the bed to do some house work .... Seems like looking after means ... How are you ? .... And eating my lovely ice cream bought especially to reduce the swelling .... Grrrrrrr ....

Nonu Mon 21-Jul-14 17:33:16

Cretin still I suppose the icecream was something at least .
grin

Ana Mon 21-Jul-14 17:35:40

Sounds to me as though he ate it, Nonu! hmm

Cretin, mine's a bit like that too...

Cretin Mon 21-Jul-14 17:39:30

He ate it all ! Said it was lovely ! None left for me !

Nonu Mon 21-Jul-14 17:44:26

Ooops mis-read your post .

I am sad & [blushing] now .

Anyway, hope you are better now !

Gagagran Mon 21-Jul-14 18:08:29

Understand completely Cretin - my DH is the same. Then he has the gall to tell everyone that "She" doesn't like me to look after her when she's ill!

Hope you are feeling better and less sore. Dental ops are NOT nice. flowers

It's taken me 47 years to work out the complexities of making porridge now I seem to have got the job every morning, why oh why did I poke my nose into the kitchen, what next Sunday lunch?.

BUT, DW says she cannot make coffee, that is my job (very fussy re my coffee)

Wasn't there something about 2 birds in the hand = a bushel
