What? Jools is dead? I mean, his show is not live? That's terrible and I feel totally let down. Didn't think it was as good this year as it usually is anyway.

HNY to you all!!!

Happy New Year from Oz to all of you lovely GN's. Started 2016 with a wonderful hug from DS, after a hug from Mr. S. of course; the 2 most important men in my lifetchgrintchgrin.

The fireworks on BBC1 were spectacular, I thought, really enjoyed them and the odd one I saw outside but it was cloudy, although a few Chinese lanterns went past. Toasted with a high five and fist bump with my son as he was too lazy to get a drink! Then danced Auld Lang Syne with my doggie. tchgrin Then back to my film.

Happy New Year to all. Frost here in Sussex at last!

A Happy New Year to everyone, on this quiet frosty first morning of 2016. Always have mixed feelings on New Year's Day, wondering what the next 12 months have in store for us personally, and the world in general. But we have our son's wedding to plan for, so plenty of fun and anticipation in the offing, and no doubt a certain amount of stress wink

Growing old is definitely preferable to the alternative, and is a privilege denied to many. Make the most of it, it does have advantages too! Happy New Year, everyone! xx

A very happy New Year to you all out there in Gransnet land. Lunch is all prepared and ready to cook. Pork is roasting and everything else is done, so I'm sitting watching the New Year's Day concert from Vienna. It's a lovely way to start the year.

Photo taken by one of my Facebook friends last night. What a way to end the year and start the new one!

A Happy New Year to you all.

Lovely photo hildaj. I did think of taking one of the fireworks on the coast last night but decided I'd rather go back to bed instead. grin

We meant to watch the concert too but only remembered half way through that it was on.

Happy New Year to all you lovely Gransneters. DH and I were going away to friends for New Year but, unfortunately, both they and we are poorly so we both spent the evening at home and toasted each other with Lemsip at midnight.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jan-16 12:32:12

Well, yes. Of course it does really. smile A Wild Rose, pale and delicate. What could be more appropriate?

Best stick with this ridiculous moniker now though. smile

Happy New Year to everyone.

Celebrated with my husband and a glass (or two!) of Baileys.

Best wishes for the year ahead,

Cagsy Fri 01-Jan-16 14:55:40

Happy New Year everyone, we had a lovely dinner with DH, my sisters and theirs, just 6 of us. Quiet and very civilised after the recent chaos of larger family gatherings, but most enjoyable.
Hope you get to write the story you want on the blank page of 2016 x

Is the whole of the Highlands still in bed? Been at work since 9am and apart from a couple of dogs walkers when we walked ours at lunch time I have seen no-one.
