The photo made me feel quite ill how would anyone feel to see photo of little grandchild on Twitter when prevented from seeing them?

We share stuff and support each other on this thread and despite my daughter appalling behaviour I don't choose to upset her.

Celebregran, hope you feeling lots better and that you enjoy your holiday. Your daughter looks lovely, but that is a very forced smile. You know her of course, but do you really think she is being nasty? She probably doesn't even know you can look at the photo. I am not on Facebook so I don't know how the privacy settings work, but surely if you want to block someone you can. In a way, I envy those of you with other family. At the moment I cannot stop crying because I miss what I used to have. My daughter will never want proper contact with me, no big falling out, she just genuinely prefers her friends to any family. I have found the effort to go out and mix has just gone, it is so hard that everyone I saw had some family and I had to have this forced smile on my face, when inside I was crying. Feel helpless about the future, have booked a holiday but it doesn't take away the lonliness. Sorry to go on, if I could wave a want I would wish that all those lost children get in touch with their moms and dads and realise we all love them and do the best we can, sometimes getting things wrong, but who doesn't. No one cares like you'd mom, why don't they know that. Sorry to sound do down.

Celeb I do realise it's none of my business, but do you really think it's wise to post a picture of your daughter, and the comments that go with it, and your DGD's full name, on an open forum like Gransnet? Are you deliberately trying to upset your D?

Smileless I wonder if your ES will panic not knowing where you have moved to? It's interesting because he may be estranged from you but there's a security in knowing where you are even if there is no communication. You are doing what you need to do for you and Mr. S and bringing happiness into your life instead of staying put and having the happiness sucked out of you. Thanks Wendysue and Rhinestone for your words of encouragement and support and to you Celeb and Yogagirl for your thoughtful pm's. It's a bit scary I must admit and all feels a bit strange. Goodness knows how we'll feel if some one puts an offer in for ours. The estate agent is positive about not having any problem finding a buyer so we'll have to wait and see.

DS in Oz is being supportive bless him and it must be sad for him knowing that when he comes back again for a visit he may not be staying in the home he grew up in. He said it's been a very difficult time for us and it's not going to get any easier. I saw a boy of about 7 out on his bike this afternoon when I was walking the dogs and thought that could be our eldest GS in 3 years time and I just don't want to see him, ride past not knowing I'm his grandma.

We're looking at 3 properties tomorrow. Without physically seeing any of them I'm really keen on a 1930's 4 bed which has been totally refurbished for sale. Mr. S. isn't sure about its location though and we're both looking forward to seeing a 4 bed traditional cottage which will need bit of work but nothing excessive, unless I get carried away of course.

I can't believe this all started 3 weeks ago when all we were doing was going out for lunch.

Went to the doctor yesterday and the break is still there but he took more X rays and said it should be better in two to three more weeks. I put a shoe on yesterday but he told me to only wear that if I'm going out where I won't be walking. Otherwise I have to use my sexy boot. I now have an ankle wrap rouse also. If I don't mind him it will take me another month and I don't want that. So I will be a good girl and do what he says.

Well ladies' the 'For Sale' sign is up and I've just had an email from the estate agent who tells me there's already been a lot of interest and I have to say I'm not sure how to feel about it now the wheels have been set in motion. The first house we viewed could be 'the one' and we've 3 to view on Wednesday so it could be one of those. As you can probably tell, it's all very strange and ratherbut we're enjoying looking around and making plans.
