faithful to love

I separated from my wife because of her infidelity. On the first occasion, I forgive her and we were reconciled, but over the years another man appeared and she fell in love again. When I asked her, she answered me this:
The feelings of Love are something beautiful and should be cause for celebration and not sorrow. I have no owner, nobody has bought me, I do not belong to anyone, nobody sends in my mind or my feelings, I am free to receive the gifts that Heaven wants to give me without asking for permission or forgiveness for it. I have been faithful to Love. I know that it sounds hard but if you see it well no one can send in the Spirit not even oneself.

She is Taoist, because she studied acupuncture in a school of Chinese Traditional Medicine.
What do you think about this?

Well, yes many people fine an ‘ist’ that appeals to them & that they believe in, which could well be the case with your wife, on the other hand she could be cynically using this as an excuse to have her cake and eat it. You don’t say if you are currently together or not, either way IMO it’s down to you to decide what you want to do about it, don’t let someone else dictate how you live, decide what is acceptable & right for you, best wishes

A lot of us could fall for someone else but marriage is about commitment and taking the rough with the smooth. We all go through ups and downs. I hope things work out for you Chente.

Are you Taoist too? It sounds as though she feels she can be married and yet still have an open relationship, to see other men. If that's not what you want and you can't forgive her again, then leave her. Life is too short to be unhappy.

If you marry, and part of that ceremony is about being faithful to the one you marry, then that is that.

Her explanation sounds like a jolly good excuse to me! I admire her ingenuity!

I hope that you will find someone who is willing to keep their promises.

Bo**ocks?

Think you’re right Maw!

Sounds like an excuse to cheat to me.

People who cheat always have excuses , ‘I couldn’t help it’ , ‘ it’s your fault’ etc etc .

This is just another one of those . Sounds like your wife is a master manipulator ... I’d stop forgiving her if I was you !

Chente
I suggest that the read up on Taoism and relationships and then tell your wife that she's talking a load of shite.
Taosism is not about hiding the sausage with all and sundry.

Jalima1108 Thu 19-Jul-18 20:32:30

That's a new one on me

LynneB59 Thu 19-Jul-18 20:34:26

She seems to want to have the best of both worlds. If you let her, she'll carry on doing what she likes

sodapop Thu 19-Jul-18 21:25:49

I thought being a Taoist was a belief system not the result of an acupuncture course.
I agree with other posters I'm sorry to say Chente your wife seems like a manipulator.
Find your own happiness. Good luck.

Taoism and Acupuncture ?

MawBroon Thu 19-Jul-18 23:27:00

Oh yes * crazyH* in the same way that trained podiatrists become Baptists and Dental Hygienists C of E.

crazyH Thu 19-Jul-18 23:30:16

Love that Maw ?

Love is a choice. It's not just a feeling. Yes, there's romance, but that's not what ultimately sustains a marriage or a relationship. Real love goes WAY deeper.

I almost get the impression your wife is in love with BEING in love. Sadly I think this is becoming more common. People want the romance of "Titanic" but they don't want the day to day grind and the choice of loving your spouse once the initial honeymoon is over.

Is this a wind up AGAIN

M0nica Fri 20-Jul-18 09:08:42

I was thinking that as well Bluebelle

Ah well, it is the summertime and some people's brains shut down when the weather heats up.
