We celebrated the birth of a greatgrandaughter last week! This has pushed us all to a new level and will take some getting used to. DH and I are Gtgrandparents, our eldest son is a Granddad and our grandson, that cheeky little boy who we minded not so long ago, is a proud father! Are there any other greatgrans on Gransnet?

Congratulations on your newest family member (and your new title lol) and hope she is thriving. It does seem so funny to think of our children being grandparents.

I do have a 5 year old ggrandson but unfortunately have never met him.

Congratulations Mrseggy ?
No, not for a long time yet, I pray. Got 2 teenage grkids who are still in school, hopefully will go to university and then settle down to marriage and children. But that's what I hope .
Mrseggy, you must have got married very young ?

I was 26 when I was married, but I am old (81) now! Incidentally my own Grandfather was born in 1840 - he was in his 60's when my Dad was born.

Congratulations MrsEggy flowers how lovely.

I have 3 Great Grandchildren, I’m 70 it’s really weird that my daughters are Nannys already and as you say like you my eldest GS and GD are parents.

crazyH Sun 04-Nov-18 15:09:57

Has GN lost the plot......it is repeating Mrseggy's reply over and over again

MrsEggy Sun 04-Nov-18 16:57:28

Sorry about repititions!

crazyH Sun 04-Nov-18 23:19:47

Congratulations, MrsE. I doubt I will be around to see great grandchildren. I now wish I had started my family in my 20s.

Congratulations - how exciting. My BIL & SIL are great grandparents twice now - they're 71. Our eldest GD is 21 and with her long term partner but we rather hope they don't decide to start a family yet as she's only just finished Uni.

Enjoy your new status grin

Congratulations on your new addition flowers
I have 2 x GGCs one a little girl of 2,5 yrs and her baby brother aged 6mths they are the children of my 2nd DGS and his wife.
It certainly changed our family, getting used to my DD being called nana sounded very strange indeed.
I was 66 when I became a GGM and 41 when I first became a nana

GrandmaKT Mon 05-Nov-18 11:02:50

Gosh Lynne59 a great grandma at 59! I'm the same age as you and your friend, and still getting used to being a grandma! (GC 3 and 4 and another on the way)
Many congratulations MrsEggy

Auntieflo Mon 05-Nov-18 11:16:11

Congratulations MrsEggy, on joining the GGM club. We have two GGC, the first is now 21 months, and the second is 16 months. AN Other is due to join them soon. I did feel strange when my children became grandparents. And me, being married to a GGPa. ? !!
(Can’t believe it when I’m only 25)

mabon1 Mon 05-Nov-18 13:05:03
