How can I have my idea of a perfect man?

The one I have is sadly deficient. He goes days without speaking, never washes the bath mat and refuses to ask for directions when lost.

Whenever I am lingering over my cheese and ham toastie in our local garden centre, he claims he needs to leave.
Also shelving issues, I wish my nick nacks to be displayed nicely, he claims he needs an extra fitting for his drill.

I'm not sure how to progress.

Sadly the perfect man or woman doesn`t exist.
I would stop doing as he requests and do your own thing.

Having your idea is easy. You're doing that now.*grapefruitpip*.

How to find that ideal man is another question.

I found mine at the age of 64. Near ideal but the same would be said of me if someone asked him. I have my idiosyncrasies.?

Apricity ?

Is there such a thing!!!

The trouble with the perfect man is that he would want the perfect wife.

I doubt I am her, so I shall stick to the man I have, faults and all, because after all, he puts up with me AND says he loves me.

Evie 'The perfect man goes home after, fixing the shelf, carried the shopping, cooked lunch and cleaned the car lol' - I think you've forgotten something ;)

You can enjoy the idea of a perfect man in your own private fantasies, grapefruit but the reality is more difficult to come by.
I'd be happy with a chauffeur and DIY expert.

A brilliant post, I’ve laughed out loud!

Sirchenjin - I am still laughing. Oh the vision of a cross between Jamie Fraser and Dick Strawbridge. Splendid men both, but I hope the love child comes without all that facial hair. I am a fan of both Outlander and Escape to the Chateau. Absolutely in awe of the skills that are transforming all those Chateaux (?)Chateaus (?)

1.Letting HIM find his own way should teach him a lesson. You ask someone and find your own way
2.Ignore and carry on eating your sandwich.
3.Get someone else to fix your shelves.
4.Just ignore him and do your own thing.
Enjoygrin

no perfect man, just like there`s no perfect woman.,end of

Sandwichnan Sat 09-Nov-19 13:10:01

After three husbands I’m still looking for the perfect man! First was an alcoholic, second a philanderer come liar and third a control freak and bully! I’m now enjoying me time and finding it quite liberating.

TrendyNannie6 Sat 09-Nov-19 13:34:22

Well I wouldn’t actually want a perfect man as he would probably want me to be perfect woman and I’m far from that, but saying that my man is perfect for me and I’m perfect for him so that’s got to be a plus point, lol it very much depends on how you describe perfect really each to their own, I wouldn’t change mine for all the tea in China

Soo jealous, that's the only way to live!

Ydoc Sat 09-Nov-19 13:37:58

Mine would refuse to go in garden centre. He is absolutely bone idle, slept yesterday for 15 hours after a day doing nothing. Decides to stop talking and turns nasty when he feels like it. I have depression I wonder why!!

Aepgirl Sat 09-Nov-19 13:39:52

The only perfect man I have met is the husband of a friend (no, I don’t have designs on him, but am very jealous!). He is an absolute saint, and adores her.

Jans3 Sat 09-Nov-19 18:38:55

I’m still looking, had 2 that weren’t all they were cracked up to be so I’m thinking third time lucky? Or should I just give up?

Kim19 Sat 09-Nov-19 19:09:00

Kind, gentle, thoughtful and loving did it for me for many years. My idea of perfect, I guess.
