Ok I am about to overshare and give you way too much info BUT I wondered if I am the only one ?!??‍♀️
I have a pretty active sex life and be with a husband who adores me.
We love a good laugh and this also extends to before sex and usually after too if the mood is right
So I do like to tell him that it appears that he is dead from the waist down as he has clear rigormortis or tell him the joy stick for his planned assault needs fixing , this amuses me no end and him.
It’s a bit of silliness and I don’t really care what anyone thinks !
I did wonder though is it just us ?!

Sounds like when young kids start noticing the opposite sex.
Do not want to hear about your bedroom antics, boring.

FannyCornforth Sun 09-May-21 14:27:08

I'm getting confused now with this and the Barrowman thread

Callistemon Sun 09-May-21 14:31:28

FannyCornforth

Callistemon I'm not even remotely interested in my own

???

Oh is she doing that as well? (re Davina McCall and orgasms)
I recall that she was the first woman to go through the menopause too
grin

eazybee Sun 09-May-21 14:44:11

I don't think our generation did discuss their sex life much with each other, but oh dear, all the inhibitions seem to vanish when the menopause appears

Gagajoif it is really raunchy on mumsnet, that is where this poster should go.

He/she/it is only posting on GN because we do not have raunchy threads and the OP naively assumes we must have spent our lives going to bed in our knickers and had children by immaculate conception.

Never mind they will grow up some time.

Blossoming Sun 09-May-21 15:24:14

Weird thing to post on an open forum.

JackyB Sun 09-May-21 16:02:54

Another case for colouring the OPS posts green.

Hello! The OP has been back and explained herself and everyone just carries on commenting on the first posting in the thread.

I despair.

JackyB Sun 09-May-21 16:05:07

(Except for Fanny, who has acknowledged the apology)

GNHQ please arrange for these posts to appear in green so they don't get overlooked.

Emily49 Sun 09-May-21 16:27:09

There’s nothing wrong with discussing sex in a humorous way, but I don’t find the OP’s language very amusing or interesting. I do feel that some posters who have commented are assuming that anyone over 50 would not have a sex life, and it’s really “not on” to talk about it, in company. I have a good, fulfilling sex life (I’m 71), but don’t feel the need to discuss the details here or anywhere else - but some might wish to. However, I don’t like the assumption that “we” on GN are too old for this malarkey (cue silly jokes of the “sex life, what’s that, can’t remember that far back” type. I feel GN generally tends to be dominated by stereotypical Grans with old fashioned views, which makes it hard to include topics such as sex.

timetogo2016 Sun 09-May-21 16:34:48

I`m glad you don`t care about what anyone thinks,because i don`t.

Artaylar Sun 09-May-21 16:43:31

From what I can tell, it dosent look like the OP meant any harm by posting on this subject. Though it seems that it is not one that is on the whole welcome on GN, and that's fair enough.

There are lots of issues around sex in older age, apart from 'fun' including issues around health, disability, the possibility of more disfunction in older age, as well as general taboo.

Maybe there are more niche forums around on sex in older age for peeps who are looking for advice or wanting to discuss it.

Shelflife Sun 09-May-21 16:54:39

Far TMI!!! For goodness sake , who wants to know .

Lucca Sun 09-May-21 16:58:07

The point about the opening post is......it isn’t amusing ! I like a laugh but that was just odd. Didn’t really understand it.

Galaxy Sun 09-May-21 17:22:54

I think MN who think this was a troll post and would respond accordingly. I am not saying it is I am just saying it would be given short shrift on the general areas of MN.

Chewbacca Sun 09-May-21 17:37:45

I seem to remember that one of our male posters recently recieved a temporary ban, and a stern telling off from GNHQ, for posting a joke with sexual innuendo because it was deemed as unacceptable on this forum. So what's different about this post? It has sexual innuendo and is meant to be funny apparently, so why is this OP being treated differently to the male poster?

Galaxy Sun 09-May-21 17:38:56

Because it didnt involve children ?

Chewbacca Sun 09-May-21 17:40:41

Maybe Galaxy. hmm

FannyCornforth Sun 09-May-21 17:42:15

And 'joking' about male impotence
.
Would a male poster having a laugh at the expense of his wife's later life sexual problems be acceptable?

It's just unpalatable, at best, isn't it.

Galaxy Sun 09-May-21 17:42:55

Also I think this post has been reported so we dont know what will happen. The response isnt usually quick. I have no views on whether it should be or not.

Jaxjacky Sun 09-May-21 17:44:02

To answer the OP, no it’s not just you,

JaneJudge Sun 09-May-21 17:44:13

eazybee

Is it Davina McCall?
She is preparing to tell us all that it is possible to have orgasms in your fifties.
Who knew?

god this made me laugh so much grin

FannyCornforth Sun 09-May-21 17:45:24

Hi Galaxy I reported it immediately. I've explained why upthread.
Management replied at 12.20 and said that they 'were having a look'.

FannyCornforth Sun 09-May-21 17:47:35

This thread is getting loads of traffic though.
Makes a change from the M&H threads.
I'm a cynical so and so I know.

Galaxy Sun 09-May-21 17:51:25

I love the way you call them management fanny it makes me laugh.
I think the way MN handled it was to have a seperate section and you could only post in that section after having been a member for a certain time, in order to weed out trolls. If you dont do that you will be.over run by trolls.
