Apparently, 25% of Britons believe their future is in the stars! What a load of codswallop. Of course, by the law of probability they will sometimes make an accurate forecast, but they are usually so vague that they are meaningless.

I’m a Capricorn born on the cusp of Aquarius.
They say we are born old and grow young.

I used to be into this stuff when I was younger.

What’s your star sign and what does it say about you?

Anagram Sat 21-Apr-12 20:08:23

Oh - er - OK then.....*granjura*, no need to shout! grin

granjura Sat 21-Apr-12 20:05:24

NOPE !

Anagram Sat 21-Apr-12 19:58:36

Oh, bagitha, you old hippie, you! grin

It's kind of nice to know our past was all in the stars, isn't it? We're all made of stardust.

Bronte Sat 21-Apr-12 00:33:13

No, I don’t.

Your future isn’t in the stars - it’s in your head!

Not horoscope-related really, but I've just realised it's a full moon tonight. Could that be why some of us (including me!) are a bit tetchy?

The only horoscopes I ever read are those in The Onion -always worth a look!

One man truly can make a difference, assuming he's willing to drive a loaded schoolbus into the base of a dam.

Of course not, but they are just a bit of fun.

granbunny Sat 31-Mar-12 23:18:54

no, i don't.

i worked for a local paper. we bought ours in from a supplier and printed them randomly. no meaning at all.

admittedly, it was some time ago.

goldengirl Sat 24-Mar-12 15:40:28

No I don't believe in them - but I still read 'em from time to time; just in case...... grin. I'm a Virgo: pernickety and a pain in the proverbial gringrin

Billy Connolly said his sign was Pyrex - he was a test-tube baby!

Greatnan Tue 20-Mar-12 16:15:08

Apparently (according to one site on google) we are the most civilised sign, good looking, exhibiting taste, charm and elegance, and with a strong , analytical mind. That will do me for starters!

Annika Tue 20-Mar-12 14:56:38

Greatnan I have been called many things but calm ? no never and I am a Libran (I think).
Jasper Carrott spoke of horoscopes many years ago he said when asked what sign he was he said... hump back bridge ! grin

Elegran Tue 20-Mar-12 14:36:45

We are all wonderful people. They can't go wrong on that.

Greatnan Tue 20-Mar-12 13:19:25

They sometimes get it right though - I am a Libran, calm, peace-loving, generous - altogether a very wonderful person. smile

Annobel Tue 20-Mar-12 13:11:43

Just for fun, I've looked at the Wiki description of the Scorpio character. grin If it were correct, I should have been, at the very least, prime minister or even a dictator!

Elegran Tue 20-Mar-12 12:42:59

Pretty unanimous so far.

Yeas ago I was a sub-editor of a magazine. The celebrity astrologer lived in the South of France and sent in three month batches of horoscopes at a time. Early on I realised that I had got the sequence wrong. In trepidation I phoned him to let him know, and apologised profusely. "Dear boy," he replied, "don't worry about it, it's a load of twaddle anyway, put it in whatever order you want."

jeni Tue 20-Mar-12 12:32:39

No way. I am supposed to be a sagittarian which is I believe a fire sign! In fact I am gentle, quiet, retiring, tranquil and shy!

Annobel Tue 20-Mar-12 11:44:28

Given that the stars in the constellations are hundreds of thousands of light years away from each other and from our solar system, and at the present time they're not even where we now see them, how could they possibly have any influence on anything happening here on this planet?

Annika Tue 20-Mar-12 11:30:59

Elegran Thats got it all covered then grin

Annika Tue 20-Mar-12 11:29:50

Statistically one in twelve of the population can probably expect this week to have a wonderful day, meet the man of their dreams, have sudden good fortune, encounter problems at work, or hear bad news.

If they also read someone's prediction that one of these things is going to happen, and then it does some of them are going to believe that there is something magical going on. Most people are not so credulous.
