be kind enough to tell me if you believe in the power of prayer. I know this is a very personal field, but it would be lovely if you could just post Yes or No. People who have never posted anything before are doubly welcome. smile

Nobody would come back to bite you whichever way you posted. They won't dare. (my bite can be worse than any others)

I guess, being Easter this is primarily aimed at Christians, but any God is fine with me. smile

Happy Easter to you, whether you believe or not. x

No.

I agree, Jane - I was thinking more on the lines of 'Please don't let such and such happen', when one has no control over the situation. Of course prayer or meditation could help in accepting the outcome, whatever it may be.

janeainsworth Sat 30-Mar-13 17:14:33

Yes, but you have to be careful what you ask for.
Ana I think outcomes can be changed, if through prayer or meditation your perception of a situation is altered, and this changes the way you act.

celebgran Sat 30-Mar-13 15:50:45

Goose I quite agree positive thought can be very powerful!

Ana Sat 30-Mar-13 15:40:10

I think prayer can provide great solace for those who pray, and those they pray for, so in that respect it is powerful. I don't believe prayer can alter the outcome of a specific situation, though.

Gagagran Sat 30-Mar-13 13:16:36

Yes. Not sure who hears it though - if anyone! flowers

Grandmanorm Sat 30-Mar-13 13:01:21

Yes, especially if friends ask to to. I don't know if I believe or not, but am happy to pray if asked. On occasion I do pray for my family.
I think it is a comfort for folk who believe, and maybe for those, like me, who aren't sure.

Bez Sat 30-Mar-13 12:36:28

MiceElf Sat 30-Mar-13 11:54:52

Yes. But not for an effect.

Greatnan Sat 30-Mar-13 11:28:06

No. But I believe there may be a placebo effect for people who do believe in it.
