Not sure if this is the right forum. I might have put it under Brilliant Entertainment if there had been that heading. It's great anyway, and I like what he says about media distortions. I reckon he's including 'holy' books in his definition of media.

Might be worth looking out for The Messiah Complex show near you smile

Loved it ....... they didn't know what had hit them grin

whenim64 Thu 20-Jun-13 10:37:11

An intelligent, insightful man.

Butty Thu 20-Jun-13 10:52:07

RB has an intelligent view of the world and uses his wit well. Brilliant link.

Notso Thu 20-Jun-13 11:18:52

Very clever! I saw him live at the 02 recently, he was brilliant.

wisewoman Thu 20-Jun-13 11:24:02

That was great! He really made them all look like idiots and I didn't feel sorry for them.

janerowena Thu 20-Jun-13 11:41:33

So funny - that anchorwoman was right to be nervous. grin

Grannyknot Thu 20-Jun-13 18:24:45

I've met him ... and he was wearing the same boots!

merlotgran Thu 20-Jun-13 18:29:25

He's on Question Time tonight.

Ana Thu 20-Jun-13 18:39:52

That should be fun! I think... confused

merlotgran Thu 20-Jun-13 18:42:41

What is it with Americans and getting people's names wrong?

j08 Thu 20-Jun-13 18:44:06

I'll take your word for that when. I think, in that interview, he comes across as a right twa twit.

merlotgran Thu 20-Jun-13 18:49:43

I think he's an awful show off but he runs rings around people so is good entertainment value. Not so sure an intelligent and insightful man would have cared so little for Andrew Sach's feelings.

Stansgran Thu 20-Jun-13 19:00:37

He gives me the creeps.

Bags Thu 20-Jun-13 19:37:52

merlot, I didn't know about the Andrew Sachs episode. Just had to look it up. I can't really comment on that but I certainly found him entertaining in the link I posted this morning. Comedians are often a bit prattish – I've always assumed it's part of the public act.

Lilygran Thu 20-Jun-13 19:43:31

He's had to cancel the Middle East section of his tour for security reasons. Hah!

merlotgran Thu 20-Jun-13 19:50:36

Having watched the link, Bags, I think he must be on the 'chat show guest from hell' list. Always good for viewing figures. My DDs love him and even DH is not as scathing as he used to be. The jury's out as far as I'm concerned but I'm wondering if my dislike of RB had a lot to do with the fact I really can't stand Jonathan Ross.

Melissa not sure why you posted the link?

Also you say that you would rather ask a Rabbi, not sure that there are any on GN.

The only thing that I can offer is that I knew a very happily married young couple where the wife was C of E and the husband Jewish, they didn't seem to have any problems. The only slight bone of contention was when they had their son. and the MIL insisted on the circumcision being done at home by the moyl (sp?)

Greatnan Wed 18-Sept-13 12:03:34

Hmm..............

Anniebach Wed 18-Sept-13 12:15:07

A child inherits his nationality from the mother, if the wife is not of the Jewish faith the child is not.

LizG Wed 18-Sept-13 13:25:59

Maybe Melissa intended this as a compliment Phoenix as in Rabbi, teacher, knowledgeable. Sadly I am none of these but I think you need to speak with a Rabbi of your own to help you lay proper lifetime foundations with your fiance. I wish you well.

Anniebach I'm not sure how that couple brought up their son ref. religion, I just know about the circumcision. The way was happy for the baby to be circumcised, as his father was, but she really would have preferred it to be done in hospital.
