For myself I can't thank Annie enough for starting this thread and bringing her own beliefs to us.
It has revived my own thoughts which were long sublimated. I have had my faith renewed.
I feel so much better for it.

I know you can't attend church at the moment annie so I will take you with me in my heart when I go tomorrow. It's been a thought provoking week. Thank you for sharing with us all x

Synonymous, it surely would have been impossible to have survived, she was the most remarkable woman

Cherrytree a friend had a lovely plaque in her garden which said:
"The kiss of the sun for pardon
The song of the birds for mirth
You are nearer God's heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth"

So lovely to see all the flowers coming out in the garden and it certainly makes you feel better to know spring is here and summer is coming with all that it promises.

Annie it would have been impossible to have survived all that Corrie and all those other poor souls endured but for the grace of God. She wrote such inspiring books didn't she.

Years ago I read Corrie ten Boom's book 'The Hiding Place' her family hid Jews in their home, were arrested and Corrie and her sister were in Ravensbruck, she wrote of their hut infested with fleas and said they were from God because they kept the warders away ? Do qoogle her quotes, they are worth it I promise

When i see animals and flowers and birds, I always think of God and his miracles.

My favourite psalm Ann, the next line - my help cometh from the Lord ?

This is only my recollection of one of my favourite quotes.
We used to walk a lot in the Lake District when we were younger and fitter. I always felt lifted in spirits and very peaceful when we did, oh how I miss those days.

All who attend church tomorrow sing to the Lord with cheerful voices. Those not attending church look at your garden, fields, mountains ! He is there too .

I’ve not contributed to this thread but have been following it. I’ve enjoyed reading so many inspiring thoughts on familiar Christian truths, you have all made the journey through Holy Week helpful and thought provoking. Thank you.....and now we wait for Sunday and all it signifies.

Ann as mumofmadboys says it really isn't about being good enough. If we could do it on our own there would have been no need for Jesus to come to earth to be the perfect sacrifice to open up our way back to God the Father.

So glad that DH''s daily hospital appointments have come to an end so that we are now able to get to church and in time for Easter, PTL!

Thank you annie. Good comforting words, to be loved no matter what is such a blessing and to be forgiven our sins. It gives me hope.

So much to think of in one week. Peter always comes to mind, how he must have felt denying his Lord because he was frightened .

Ann, think of Peter, I don't mean you deny Christ, but Christ chose Peter as one of the twelve, he knew Peter would deny him out of fear yet he loved him. He loved Thomas who doubted. This is how I believe it is with all of us, God knows what is in our hearts and when we make mistakes or fall on the narrow road he knows why , no matter the failing or the sin God knows why we failed or sinned . Quite simply - he loves us warts and all.

When we know we have done wrong and repent he knows if our repentance is sincere .

There has only ever been one perfect human being , he taught us to forgive , if he thought we were all perfect he would have had no need to tell us to - forgive as we are forgiven .

What love he pours on us
