Won't go in to too much detail but myself and my very vulnerable family are going to be evicted from the home we have rented for years in a couple of months time. We have been good tenants but landlord just wants property back now. We live in London, house prices are ridiculous. We are basically all being forced into separate, unsuitable accommodation. Please pray for us, that a miracle may very soon happen for us so that we can find a cheaper, suitable home especially for my young grandchild. Thank you.

My prayers for God’s grace and peace to you and your family. The other practical suggestions are great too so I won’t repeat them but God can do infinitely more.

When I read of this happening to people it breaks my heart. You’ll be in my thoughts and I hope that things take a turn for the better and you can stay together as a family.

Yes, wondergran.
Please take on some of the wonderful suggestions that have been offered by other posters. I second what they say. Good luck.

Sending my prayers to you and your family!!

Sorry but can’t see how prayers would help, in the same way that Trump’s “ thoughts and prayers” don’t help victims of gun crime!
You need practical help to search for another property, scour the internet, sign on to every housing agency. Check your rights re your tenancy etc. Hope you find somewhere.

I pray that you will find the strength to
seek out help.
Please approach The citizens advice, Age concern, Charities and your local churches. Do speak to your young grandchild's health visitor and/or school. Someone somewhere will hopefully hold the key to helping your family.

God Bless
flowers.

Dear Wondergran I will hold you and your family in the Light (as quakers say). Here in the Mendips I volunteer with a guy who works for the Mendip YMCA with the over 25's who are homeless or are being threatened with eviction, helping them find suitable homes. I wonder if the YMCA in London has someone similar? I would definitely suggest going to your local CAB as they should definitely be able to advise both about the above and if there are any charities who help in this situation. Do so hope you can find something suitable for you all. xx

pamdixon Tue 03-Apr-18 10:30:18

I guess all circumstances are different but as a landlady I would find this terribly difficult to do to long term, good tenants. Our long term tenant has just set fire to her property by being incredibly careless but, unless she shows she has learned nothing, she will be able to return when it has been rebuilt. I do hope you get lucky and find somewhere suitable. A good tenant is a God send. By the way, many will find themselves aim your predicament. New rules in April that favour tenants and penalise landlords are coming so it is another nail in the buy to let coffin.

Have you spoken to a housing specialist or CAB? Be clear about the date that you have to move as it isn't the date on the notice. You do have rights but unfortunately you have to fight for them and more unfortunately those who most need them are those least able to fight. Please don't try to deal with it on your own.

Please send up a prayer to St. Joseph wondergran - it may sound mediaeval and superstitious to some but somehow my prayers to him did indeed bring about a wonderful and totally unexpected result when I had to leave my home of a very long time last year. I'll add your family to my prayers to him. God bless
