What happens to truly evil people when die?

I think that people like this suffer for all or most of their lives in some way, so they've lived with their punishments in a sense and not the normal lives that most of us enjoy. Sad really.

My mother a very devout Catholic and evil woman died 18 months ago.
She was terrified of meeting her maker, wether she went “ upstairs or downstairs “ I believe the guilt was possibly punishment enough.
