if god is so loving

I recently thought of the idea, that if there is a god and it is so loving and good, then why was the universe even made?If we are going to spend eternity in bliss then why our existance?Why create something that is so full of destruction and growth?You only have to look at the earth ,but i won't even start on that!
My conclusion is of a deist creator, but I'm a little shaky on that too!

PurplePixie, you seem to be an independent thinker, so I'd like to recommend to you the Unitarian Church, or perhaps the Quakers (Society of Friends).

Redl, your question , to the effect of why does anything exist anyway? is a separate one from the problem of evil. This is because your question could be asked about an evil deity as about a good deity.

In actual fact a poetic answer to your big question is in Genesis I.

Organised religion is simply a way of keeping the people quiet while the elite enjoy themselves. It's all jam tomorrow. I ditched it years ago.
