West Bank: Brutality of Israeli Soldiers

Brutalisation of soldiers affects not only the non -combatants whom they kill but also the soldiers themselves.

The evil of the right wing Israeli state affects the souls of its own subjects.

Thank you * Smileless* I do read much but not read of the Brutality and brutality since the 70’s

Smileless2012 Tue 04-Mar-25 10:57:02

You can Google if want to know who its been written by Annie, I was merely pointing out that what you object to being said about the brutality of Israeli soldiers isn't only discussed here on GN.

Anniebach Tue 04-Mar-25 10:36:47

I didn’t attend her church

Caleo Tue 04-Mar-25 10:27:09

Anniebach morality is very much matter for Religion/Spirituality.

I note that your wide experience of churchgoers does not include the magnificent Mariann Budde who spoke morality to politician Trump.

Anniebach Tue 04-Mar-25 09:38:07

Really Smileless , but written by whom ,

Smileless2012 Tue 04-Mar-25 09:24:51

If you Google this Annie you'll see these things are not only spoken of or written about on GN.

Anniebach Tue 04-Mar-25 06:51:04

Israeli soldiers are trained by their government to brutalise, been trained to do so since the 70’s, military service is compulsory in Israel for male and female. We also read on GransNet how Israeli soldiers treat fellow Israelis in Israel
but only on GransNet .

I have attended the Anglican Church for many years, worked for years in a R.C. Convent, been thrilled listening to church members who have been on pilgrimages to the Holy Land
None of this has been written or spoken of, except on GransNet

Anniebach Mon 03-Mar-25 20:57:05

It is now the 30’s repeated , Lilly Ebert warned of this a few years before she died

Yes, thousands of years of warring history, and I bet it makes for interesting reading, thanks, but do you know anything about the 'consultation' process, which may or may not have occurred before the creation of the state of Israel? That is, were the Palestinians, of all faiths, living there at that time consulted, offered compensation, given any say in the process?

So why are thousands of years dismissed and the focus is on the last 70 odd years? Cherrypicking?

Because the history is an inconvenient truth for some on Gransnet.

This is probably more detailed and accurate:

Thanks Caleo. Were those displaced Palestinians offered/given any compensation for the homes and land they lost?

Anniebach Mon 03-Mar-25 17:42:29

And in 1948 5 Arab country declared war on Israel,

Caleo Mon 03-Mar-25 17:19:46

Maremia:
Concerning the United Nations plan of 1947,

"The Arab Higher Committee, the Arab League and other Arab leaders and governments rejected the Plan, as aside from Arabs forming a two-thirds majority, they owned most of the territory.[20][21] They also indicated an unwillingness to accept any form of territorial division,[22] arguing that it violated the principles of national self-determination in the UN Charter that granted people the right to decide their own destiny.[10][23] They announced their intention to take all necessary measures to prevent the implementation of the resolution.[24][25][26][27] A civil war broke out in Palestine,[28] and the plan was not implemented.[29] In 1948, 85% of the Palestinians living in the areas that became the state of Israel became refugees.[30]"

Does anyone have a theory about why there is such bad blood between the two communities?
Were the people living in Palestine in the 1940's, and not all of them were Arabs, consulted about the proposed establishing of the brand new state of Israel?

As Chocolatelovinggran mentioned

Where do we begin? Are you sitting comfortably?

A few years ago, during the Iron Age ....

Anniebach , neither of us quotes from literature so as to make allegations against Jews.

Anniebach Mon 03-Mar-25 13:30:45

Yes, and quotes from the Old Testament can be used for and against Jews

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 03-Mar-25 13:03:31

And a brief amble through the Old Testament will confirm that fighting over the territory has been a fixture of life in this part of the world for...quite a long time.

Caleo Mon 03-Mar-25 11:48:00

Anniebach, The Bible is important literature. The Bible does not belong to anyone in particular and I will quote from The Bible if and when its poetry is appropriate to illustrate what I want to say.

Anniebach Mon 03-Mar-25 11:42:16

Caleo there is an equally strong supporter of Palestine as you
who has said the bible is fiction, best not to quote from it

Caleo Mon 03-Mar-25 11:34:52

Indeed Pantglas, we all pray that spears will be replaced by pruning hooks.

Pantglas2 Mon 03-Mar-25 11:27:45

“I am sure that Israelis will eventually change their attitude towards Palestinians only God knows how this will happen.” Caleo

I wish I could be sure Palestinians would do the same towards Israelis…
