Yes and all the other evils since the world began. But I am trying to address this particular evil of the deliberate brutalisation of soldiers.

There are international laws for combatants. The scale of which Israeli attacks upon helpless people far outweighs in scale and illegality those of HAMAS .

There exists no concerted effort by HAMAS to wrest the West Bank from Israel.

Their is wrong on both sides, and both have governments that do not put the interests of their people first.

As usual, it is the innocents who suffer...

Why do people always throw up the actions of Hamas as justification for the brutality of the Israeli army?

If the Israelis had only attacked known, or even suspected, members of Hamas you might have a point.

No it never is.

While it's true that soldiers should be taught how to kill people it's also true that soldiers should be taught the laws of warfare.

God knows how young men, young soldiers, are indoctrinated to kill babies, and boys of twelve going about their lawful , civilian business in the West Bank! I don't want to know how these young men are trained it's enough to know that they are trained to be military criminals, and that this training alters their very souls.

Israel seems to me to be more like my country than is any Islamic country. But not only Israel ---- also the world in general ----is becoming more right wing ,and states are become more repressive .

Anniebach, the people I particularly accuse of brutalising young soldiers are people who form the regime that rules Israel today.
Israeli soldiers act more like terrorists than soldiers who have been taught the rules for lawful wartime engagement with an enemy.

Annie, why don't you inform yourself? There is a lot of evidence of the etnich cleansing going on right now, not in Gaza, but in the occupied West Bank. IDF soldiers are very active in this mission, without mercy, without pity, and with the utmost cruelty. And are protecting illegal settlers in the buring, destruction of homes and terrible treatment of the Palestinians.

Children are being killed like rabbits. Yes, those children may be throwing stones at tanks and bulldozers coming to destroy their homes, their crops, and everything else. That is all they have- children against bulldozers and tanks, and machine guns.

And this is happen all the faster, and all the 'better' because of settlers and soldiers being told that the Palestinians are sub-humans, vermin and rascals- and therefore not deserving of any rights or respect.

This is often how soldiers can do what they do- the only way is to actually believe the enemy is somehow not quite human, or not human at all, but animals and vile terrorists.
