Every time you answer these calls the system recognises that your number is live
If someone really wants to speak to you they would then call your mobile.

I don't think there is a way to stop these calls. If I receive one from a provider I do not deal with, I end the call, without comment. If it is from someone I use, I say I will ring the company to check for myself. It is a good idea to have contact numbers for the suppliers and providers you use but make absolutely certain you get those numbers from a genuine source because the scammers copy the original information and pay Google for their 'advert' to be near the top of the list. Never give any personal information. You can't be too careful these days and these scammers have no conscience.

We had the same calls earlier this week and we aren’t with Virgin.

Don’t answer the phone , once you pick up they will keep ringing, if you aren’t expecting an International Call don’t answer, it’s automated and won’t leave a message.

BTW the International Number changes each time, so it’s hard to block the number.

You can report the call to BT on their webpage, just Google. More people need to report these calls to get them taken down.

It has nothing whatever to do with Virgin Media - no point in trying to contact them. Just hang up as soon as you hear the first few words of the call.

We get these type of calls every week or two. In our case, they don't get the ISP correct though. Just hang up on them or do what I do and string them along with some idle chatter about the weather, what did they have for breakfast etc; they don't stay on the line for very long then! ?

These are not coming from Virgin Media.
I would also hang up without comment

I just hang up on calls like that and then forget about them.
