Fitflop Facebook scam

Bought 2 pairs of sandals from the above company through Facebook a month ago.

Emailed them yesterday to ask when they would be delivered. Email back this morning to say the Emil sent was undeliverable.

Searched Google for another email address for them. Email back almost immediately to say that they recognised the order number as a scam.

Contacted my bank and fair play to them my payment was refunded. They told me never to order anything advertised through Facebook but to search for official website.

Lesson learnt hopefully.

On the subject of Fitflops - I had one pair, that I bought in their annual sale and loved them and wanted a second pair. I scoured the web and the cheapest I could find were £57 on Amazon. I persuaded myself I could afford them and went ahead and ordered. They arrived the next day, but when I opened the box Amazon had sent white canvas trainers! I was going away the next day, so didn't have time to exchange, just quickly returned and went off on hols without my sandals.
The first day I was there, I went into a charity shop and there were the exact Fitflops, in my size, brand new with labels still on for £10! My lucky day smile

Our towns are suffering because of the internet. Why not go into town and look for the item you want. Save our town centres I say.

The things I'd like to buy are not available in my local town.
I am not going to buy things I don't want just because they are available.

It's only easy if you want something easy.
It's years since I bought anything of value locally unless from a massive business such as Next or Argos.

We don't even have an independent greengrocer or butcher for example.

When I see ads on FB for pills, creams etc. etc. I then go to ebay they are said items are a lot cheaper.

That may be true, but recently I bought something from
eBay which I thought was the genuine article, and it turned out to be a Chinese fake. Ever since I get around 20 Spam emails per day. Never look at them, just delete, but I've been doing that every day for months now, and am wondering if they're ever going to stop!!

Are you not able to block the emails, or even better block the domain? That's what I do.

Dd has just been scammed on FB. funds are limited but she wanted to buy little caravan for local wkends away with the boys.

Saw caravan, seller wanted £200 deposit (as there were 100s after it)! so dd paid it through bank. Once money had gone to their bank the seller blocked her, but yet still the van was advertised, app another person lost £200 with same seller.

Bank didn't want to know. We think they were foreign, we could barely make out the number plate on the van but it was a foreign one as it had sort of blue and black on it.

The sellers were probably not even in this country. Apparently the van was in Blackpool. One of the face bookers tried to locate it at the address given, but it was just a bogus address.

Just one of many scams.

I’ve just realised I’ve also been duped by Fitflop outlet site on Facebook .
Order number etc on what looks like legit Fitflop documentation.
I’ll contact my bank tomorrow but also customer service on Fitflop website so they’re aware of scam using their brand name although I suspect they’ll be aware of this by now.
I’ll be more careful next time!

Wow, what a rollercoaster of experiences! Glad you got your refund sorted out smoothly with the bank. Thanks for sharing your story - definitely a valuable lesson for all of us about being cautious with online purchases!
