Fraudulent company selling plastic storage containers…

Actually, I think fraudulent does cover the fact that they are deliberately trying to look like another company because they are misleading people?

Sadly, a lot of websites are fake and scams.

You were probably lucky Maybe80 because some will harvest your bank details. Hope you can get your money back and get some storage containers elsewhere.

I did receive them today! Checking the website they do seem to have a disclaimer regarding security of personal details which is a worry. They don’t package the good properly so it’s no wonder people say they arrive damaged. They say to email them if that happens but emails just get returned but luckily my items appear to be un damaged. I have been lucky.

That's true, it's the reason why I posted the link that says that.

But there are sites which are not secure and those can take your card details. Many fraudsters do this.

MayBe,,,perhaps you could start your own business, going round peoples homes, decluttering for them....as you have all these boxes....joking apart it is very worrying having given credit card details to these companies who turn out to be scammers, I've done it myself and had to get my card stopped and a new one sent to me...

I had lots of warnings from tech savvy child. I know many people who it's happened to so decided to share the link. It makes me angry. Why should these scammers get money for nothing?

If everyone knows, no one can be fooled by their dodgy scams Knowledge is power.

I think I could set up a business selling plastic boxes now that I have twice the number I set out to buy!

I wish I had read TrustPilot beforehand. Since taking my payment two months ago I have not received my item, nor have I had any response to numerous emails and phone calls.

Other TrustPilot reviews confirm that this is a common experience with this company. Thankfully my card company have been able to refund me while they pursue payment. Truly apalling.

There was another post on GN a few days ago where someone bought some shoes but needed to return them (by courier!), only to find the base was in Hong Kong. Not a scam, but still something to check out before ordering, to check the contact details and make sure it's not going to be too expensive to return.

Maybee, do not beat yourself up, these people know every dodge, me and others more trusting try to be diligent are sometimes let down, they are the ones at fault, not us. I still prefer proper shops

I fell for that one, too. It pretended to be a Clarkes site. At least it made me wary of the Seasalt one!

That's why I try to warn people about similar things. They said I could return them but it would cost a lot to do so. I still see adverts for them on facebook. And I also fell for some childrens toys on the run up to Christmas. Even my savvy son fell for that one, too. Took weeks to arrive and were not fit for purpose. Facebook won't remove any of these dodgy sites. The Seasalt one still pops up from time to time.

I think it's good to talk about these things so everyone can be informed and by doing so you'll be saving others

Myself and several other people spent about 2 years of our lives trying to get dodgy sites on FB shut down. We spent thousands of hours finding out as much info as we could.
FB kept deleting the posts.
Eventually we were all banned but we were able to get back on there.
Long story short: we all realised we were wasting our time. The general public didn’t want to know.

Well, at least with my mutant feet I’ll never be tempted by barefoot shoes!

the company that I got caught out with...I was looking for an external hard drive, I saw the company that I had used before , they were legit, just below this was the same company...exactly the same page ( I learned later it had been copied ) but the hard disc I wanted was a bit cheaper,,,,so I ordered it ....but I didn't get a confimation email...that's when alarm bells rang...I felt sick...phoned my credit card company who put me through to the fraud squad....I got my money back, but it's a terrible feeling, I only use a few companies online...but even they could be copied...it's scary,,
