This is fascinating - thanks micelf. I think you have to have a 'feel' for statistics to do well - Mr Gad has & got over 70% for our ward & others of family. Having got a feel for several wards I improved my scores on wards I know of but don't live in. Being a census enumerator three times really brings out the trends, like increasing complexity of families & changes in occupation. In 1991, women in lower paid jobs were cleaners & similar but by 2001 there was a massive rise in teaching assistants & care assistants - & only about 6 women were left on Greenham Common. By 2001 Afro-Caribbeans had almost disappeared once the USAF base closed but the presence of the Vodafone HQ had resulted in a surprising mix of foreign nationals. Applications for being an enumerator in 2011 were all done by computer with tick box answers & totally ignored experience so didn't do that one (or failed to be appointed in spite of my 100% forms sent back record - Grrr).
