is a load of codswallop, and far too political for this website!!!!

Totally inappropriate.

I thoroughly and strongly object!

Thanks, Annobel - I didn't know whether the site did it automatically.

Annobel Mon 26-Mar-12 16:27:34

Anagram See the bottom of the page where the emoticons are.

Put asterisks either side of the word or name you want to make bold.

Anagram Mon 26-Mar-12 16:20:47

I know this isn't the right place, but I can't find an appropriate one and as there have been some posts about layout etc. here, I wonder if anyone can tell me why other members' names come up in bold in an actual post? Do you have to do this yourself, because whenever I mention someone by name it never appears as bold.

THis is the third time I have typed this as I keep loosing it, glad it not only me (not glad you have problem)I think that someone told me to get a mouse for my PC and use that but I cannot see how that would help. I should have no problem as I have a decent PC (Acer Aspire)and good BB connection through BT so cannot understand my problem. If it does not stop there will be a PC thrown through my kitchen window and planted in the front garden.

nanachrissy Sun 25-Mar-12 19:29:56

That often happens to me on facebook too! I thought it was me hmm

Carol Sun 25-Mar-12 17:08:20

That's been happening to me, too glamma. The page suddenly shoots right down to the bottom and I discover my typing has disappeared. Puzzled!

glammanana Sun 25-Mar-12 15:14:50

Anyone any idea why I keep loosing my posts half way through typing, the air is slowly turning a slight shade of blue here at the moment.?

Carol Sun 25-Mar-12 12:50:44

Yes, you're right - it's there again! I went on the home page earlier and there was no yellow banner. Oh well.......

wotsamashedupjingl Sun 25-Mar-12 11:53:07

It's still there Carol.

I think GNHQ put quite different things on the homepage which 'outsiders' are more likely to see. The featured threads are usually the heavier, more political ones, than the ones featured on the forums pages.

I think it's about putting a 'face' on to the world (of journalism?)

glammanana Sun 25-Mar-12 11:50:00

carol Its still on my screen, wonder where your's has gone confused

Carol Sun 25-Mar-12 11:32:54

It's gone!

Would have remained unaware of it without this thread but did click on banner. Boris and Ken of no interest to me but don't like it at all. I do not want to see the doors open to all and sundry - despite proclamations of being open and even-handed to all. UKIP? BNP?

JessM Sat 24-Mar-12 16:53:38

I have been in. Peered into the gloom. Just perfect for the reactolite lens wearer. It is a kind of reverse psychology to make it seem different, kinda hidden and special I think. It's surfy casual stuff inside.

Anagram Sat 24-Mar-12 15:01:51

JessM! grin Yes, that would really tempt you to go in....

JessM Sat 24-Mar-12 14:12:15

well it is a pretty well hidden advert from where i am sitting. I would never have found it.
Bit like that shop Hollister where they have nothing in the window and the lighting is so low you can hardly see the clothes. Outside it yesterday they had some tailors dummies that were deliberately made to look old. With no clothes on. hmm

Annobel Sat 24-Mar-12 13:11:19

No Anagram not even the Lib Dems of which I am still nominally a member. blush

jeni Sat 24-Mar-12 13:01:11

I'd better go, leave this to the politicians!
My motto ' abstain from beans!'

Anagram Sat 24-Mar-12 12:45:47

No, not them jeni grin

jeni Sat 24-Mar-12 12:41:34

The who? confused

Anagram Sat 24-Mar-12 12:35:44

I notice no one's rooting for the LibDems.....

Annobel Sat 24-Mar-12 12:34:03

SNP anyone? Plaid Cymru? .........

Anagram Sat 24-Mar-12 12:33:26

Me too! (But I don't think we've got a credible manifeto yet - things got a bit out of hand at last night's party meeting....

jeni Sat 24-Mar-12 12:31:32

I demand parity for the vjp!

Carol Sat 24-Mar-12 12:16:05

That looks like a Gransnet endorsed advert - you can hardly miss it. Personally, I am happy for it to stay as it fits my own view, but I don't think all Gransnetters would be happy with that, unless all the other eligible parties could also advertise - BNP anyone???? Uggh!

kittylester Sat 24-Mar-12 12:12:11

Advertising is one thing, appearing to support a particular political party/persuasion is another matter entirely. I think political adverts should be avoided entirely.
