May I just please make it clear to anyone it may concern that I am not prepared to take any unpleasantness from the forums into private messaging.

Love friendly messages. Not nasty ones.

Thanks. smile

Gally Mon 03-Dec-12 20:04:16

Ladies, Ladies - life is too short - I haven't a clue what you are all going on about but, pleeease desist toute suite - it's the season of Goodwill and kindness to all mankind and, hopefully, womankindhmm

I think everyone needs to chill out and have a wine grin

messenger there are chaps about, although to be honest they are in the minority. If you go to "Lil's Bar" you should find Pete and Gramps .

To be really, absolutely, bloody honest, I will be so glad when this thread disappears into the ether.

That is definitely NOT aimed at anyone, but I wish to hell that we could just get back to "normal" or whatever passes for normal on your planet.

I am starting to feel like a very sad Phoenix, sad for everyone.

May I add my comment!
I have read the comments and think that some of them are really HEAVY I too have had some not too friendly comments and insults but that comes with the territory. I presume that this is an `open` forum and as such comments will flow both good and bad and this forum seems to be dominated by women and I have not seen much signs of male participation...am I in the minority or maybe on the wrong forum.

absentgrana Mon 03-Dec-12 15:18:52

jO5 I wasn't commenting on your posts, although I'm not sure that I particularly like being called "usual lot". hmm

soop Mon 03-Dec-12 15:18:08

Mind you, jings there's an awful lot that I don't get. I'm a very simple soul!

jO5 Mon 03-Dec-12 15:17:35

grin he he

soop Mon 03-Dec-12 15:16:27

Nope! hmm

jO5 Mon 03-Dec-12 14:53:24

D'you get it soop?

B*****d if I do.

Barrow Mon 03-Dec-12 14:45:23

Thanks for clearing that up absent - makes sense now

absentgrana Mon 03-Dec-12 14:35:57

Barrow The Tony Blair defence is to defend yourself vigourously against an accusation that no one has made while carefully avoiding commenting on the real issue – at the same time asserting that you are "a pretty straight kind of guy" or words to that effect. It's not particularly important or interesting; it's just that I am sure I have read something very similar on another post a while ago.[scratches head emoticon]

soop Mon 03-Dec-12 14:32:48

...and mine confused

Barrow Mon 03-Dec-12 14:31:30

Sorry absent that one went right over my head confused blush

absentgrana Mon 03-Dec-12 14:25:03

Yes jO5 but I wasn't talking about you.

jO5 Mon 03-Dec-12 14:23:08

? Are we on the same thread absent? confused

absentgrana Mon 03-Dec-12 14:21:24

Definitely déja vu. I think it's the Tony Blair defence that rings alarm bells. hmm

jO5 Mon 03-Dec-12 14:19:28

I will ask GN if they will delete this thread. I am sure my original intention has been accomplished.

Barrow Mon 03-Dec-12 14:18:59

Hear Hear jane - I get the feeling there may be something else behind all this which I for one am unaware of - if not then can everyone please just drop it. Life is too short for petty little squabbles. If you were hurt Greatnan then I am sorry about that but surely it is better to just move on rather than keep picking at it.

Can we just accept that there does tend to be friction/clash of personalities amongst some members of the forum [including me] so we should be extra careful/more sensitive in some situations? But also realise that a lot of us live alone and sometimes when we open our heart up on this forum we are probably feeling somewhat vulnerable. No group of people will be without differences of opinion etc so we have to be extra careful when on a forum as comments are all the more open to interpretation.
