the new message they put up when a thread has been deleted! shock

Ana Thu 21-Feb-13 11:51:39

Oh I see! It seems so long ago now....wink

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 21-Feb-13 11:47:24

When a thread was deleted previously, there was a typo where it said 'MNHQ' instead of 'GNHQ' on 'Threads I'm On' - our lovely tech team have now put that right smile

Ana Thu 21-Feb-13 11:41:38

What has? confused

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 21-Feb-13 11:38:43

Just to say this has now been fixed, hurrah!

POGS Thu 07-Feb-13 17:08:21

Ana

Me too. confused

Ana Thu 07-Feb-13 16:46:42

Oh, I'm past caring! grin

petallus Thu 07-Feb-13 16:43:56

Just pressed the 'i'm on' button.

Oh i see!

Anne58 Thu 07-Feb-13 16:42:12

I think there is another one Ana asking what happened to thread that was asking what happened. confused

Ana Thu 07-Feb-13 16:38:47

The one deleted today, which POGS started ('What happened to the 'Goodbye' thread' or similar) is the one with the bunfight message. The 'Goodbye' thread just says 'Deleted' (it's further down the list).

Anne58 Thu 07-Feb-13 16:35:16

ok then, tell us what the message says.

absent Thu 07-Feb-13 16:34:48

a list not a lost – although I suppose deleted threads are lost. Forget it. smile

absent Thu 07-Feb-13 16:34:12

POGS There's not much to work out. Click on "I'm on" and up will come a lost of the threads where you have posted.

POGS Thu 07-Feb-13 16:20:05

By the way I have never pressed ' I'm on' before. Now I have to spend time working that out. sad

POGS Thu 07-Feb-13 16:18:03

I am at a total b----y loss with all of this 'going's on'.

I put a thread up, yesterday. asking where a thread had gone, now that's gone. angry

For goodness sake HQ. Is it so difficult to leave the name of a thread in situ and simply put your message on, DELETED. [suggestion emoticon]. It will be clear to us all you think the thread has issues and we will understand that. You are creating an atmosphere of who did what to whom, where there probably isn't an issue to most of us GN's reading the post. It also makes you feel is it worth contributing if this keeps happening. sad

Also I was looking for this thread and for the first time I thought I would look and see if I could work out how to retrace threads. Never have known how to 'bump' or whatever it's called. I put the name of the thread in the SEARCH box. What is all that about????. I have never read all that stuff in there and I didn't know what it was, how does it get there and how do you reply to people you have never heard of. confused

N ot all of us are computer literate please can someone tell me what the SEARCH box in the top right corner is for and does.

Movedalot Thu 07-Feb-13 16:14:46

Are they chelsea buns? Think I prefer to eat them grin

glassortwo Thu 07-Feb-13 16:12:49

Oh its been a while since I last had a good bun fight grin

j08 Thu 07-Feb-13 16:09:06

There are two with the same message. In my 'I'm on'.

j08 Thu 07-Feb-13 16:08:15

It was the thread that was deleted about an hour ago.

Anne58 Thu 07-Feb-13 15:53:15

That message (referring to a bunfight) was on that thread yesterday, (and possibly even the day before?) I thought you meant a new message.

j08 Thu 07-Feb-13 15:38:31

I guess it's just a Mumsnet thing that they don't usually use to us more respectable elder ladies. smile

Geraldine et al must be having a day off.

j08 Thu 07-Feb-13 15:36:28

grin

gillybob Thu 07-Feb-13 15:32:59

Oh I see Ana I am a bit slow on the uptake today. smile

I did try and stay well clear of that thread , j08 as I didn't want to say anything that might be taken down as evidence and used against me ! grin

j08 Thu 07-Feb-13 15:28:36

gillybob you haven't lived. wink

janthea Thu 07-Feb-13 15:28:32

It suddenly said 'New Message' and gave me the message box. Then if you go to the Active Forums, it wasn't there any longer.

j08 Thu 07-Feb-13 15:27:55

Oh yes! It's by Mumsnet HQ!
