Yes I agree the "bunfight" is a bit, well, off key. Old fashioned. Who talks about bunfights these days. Not us up to date grandparents.
Sounds like there was a fight going on.
I think :
"Thread deleted for breaking site rules" or "post deleted for breaching talk guidelines" would be more appropriate GNHQ, OK?

Deleted!

We could have a lovely time thinking up various messages, couldn't we!

"This thread has been deleted, because the Op was in shouty capitals and we have a headache"

"This thread has been deleted because we feel that size 2 eggs would work better than size 3"

"This thread has been deleted because we believe that the poster who started it is an impostor, and is actually Gladys Liberty Bodice-Higgins, who is a known subscriber to The Vole Stranglers Gazette"

"This thread has been deleted because ............. WE CAN "

It's like when somebody presses the wrong button and you get the wrong recorded message. All us passengers looked at each other, somewhat bemused, when we heard "This train is not in service" just as we were pulling into Euston the other day. Presumably GNHQ just picked the "other" reason - and we all know what sort of posts occasioned that message!

Makes you wonder what they put in the cake sometimes.

They're just trying to be mysterious. They do that, you know wink

Ana Tue 12-Mar-13 16:31:25

Yes, that's not really suitable as a one-size-fits-all reason, is it...?hmm

Anne58 Tue 12-Mar-13 16:26:20

They've used that one before, Jane but on that occasion it might have been a tad more appropriate! grin

This morning I reported a post which was blatant spam.
Now when I go to 'I'm on' it says this:

Thread deleted
This thread has been deleted by GNHQ because, let's face it, it turned into a bit of a bunfight.

Really?? What's all that about?
Apart from cupcakeobviously.
hmm
