Gransnet Search facility is RIDICULOUS

For a good laugh, try the one on a local page to search for a different area. Put in Er and see what you get. It won't be Erith.

Yes, that one works better. The actual forum search is rubbish.

I use the one just above "gransent forums". Got two T 's next to it.

And that's useless too?

I've not tried anything except the search box at the top right, above "My Gransnet"

Perhaps this is where I've been going wrong.

But Search forums is still ridiculous. They should delete it.

Is Search at the top better than Search forums, then?

You must be very lucky, J08 It is very seldom that I succeed, however well I remember the exact words to look for. I get pages of irrelevant results and nothing of what I want.

Absolutely useless. Thee must be search boxes that could be acquired from one of the websites providing gadgets for amateur sites and blogs that could be slotted in.

I think with forums sometimes you are stuck with certain characteristics of the software ... anyway on the GN forums it is u.s.e.l.e.s.s, I agree.
