Oh look. a Gransnet tea towel. Aaaarrrgh!

Mr P is helping to turn my idea into a drawing. I have done a very, very rough sketch of what I have in mind.

He is now saying things like "Ah, yes, it's your third angle projection that's wrong"

My dear late MIL had a drawer full of hand stiched S.T.s goodness knows why she kept them. Maybe for best!

Just like to point out that I have now applied a patent to my suggestion on page 1.

I wonder if any of us save sheets, dressing gowns, nightdresses, towels, table cloths etc 'for best'. My lovely gran had a drawer with all the above in. She had special bed clothes, nighties etc for 'if the doctor has to come'. I used to find all this so funny but as I grew older, realised how little she'd had growing up. She had such pride and set high standards of ethical behaviour for the family around her. I may design a tea towel in her memory!

My scientist friend used to tell me about all the bugs found on even day old tea towels.

I hardly ever need to use a tea towel. Almost everything goes in the dishwasher. Large pans are scoured, rinsed and left to 'drip dry' on the draining board.

Sounds like my mother, Nellie! And so many table cloths - all unused. She saved so many things "for best".

My late mother had a stash of about 60 unused tea towels in a cupboard. She used to get them instead of commission from her catalogue.

I am ashamed to say I think a lot of them might still be in my loft. I have all I will ever need. I can't really complain about my mum here can I.
I doubt if I need a GN one.

Yes. It would be fine for Mr P to help. They wouldn't know.

Weren't they one of the first things the National Trust started designing/selling? And then other people started copying them.

Re the Gransnet Tea Towel, may I suggest it has a picture of a gran drinking wine, eating chocolate and cake and has the legend It's your turn printed across the bottom.

(Of the tea towel, not the gran)
