Another one ( Younger Man) thread has disappeared over night. Whoosh! Gone! I knew I shouldn't have mentioned 3 b***y g***s g***f!! Any chance of an explanation Why? please GNHQ cupcake ... (although I had some misgivings yesterday)

bluebell Mon 21-Oct-13 09:13:55

Oh come on GM - are you really asking?

The whole thread? Not just the odd post? How odd!

Lona Mon 21-Oct-13 09:20:38

It was a t**ll apparently, (according to GNHQ)

It's interesting the reasons given for deleting a whole thread.

If a thread is started by a troll but the subsequent posts are within rules, as with the thread in question, does that get deleted because of the OP?

There were some witty posts about billy goats and a husband who'd only had 18 birthdays. Pity to delete them all.

But the p*ss-take on the Colman's Challenge - that wasn't started by a troll and had some very funny posts but it was deleted no doubt for business reasons.

This thread is also doomed! grin

I wonder what sort of advertising would be most relevant to GNrs. It makes me think these advertisers need to wake up and research their potential client groups a bit better. Are they still thinking we are just cosy grannies?

Nm - you bet!

grannyactivist Mon 21-Oct-13 10:43:00

Ahhh - thought the lack of information might be an indicator. wink

"It was a tr**l" Lona?? I have been assured that we will not be seeing this poster again but "his/her" post on "Grey hair and Make up" is still there (it's the last one on Style and Beauty) and frankly this Granny is getting increasingly hacked off with people who have nothing better to do than play silly games with genuine posters or manipulate them into factions . OK maybe I am too gullible but WYSIWYG - that's the way I am and I am unlikely to grow an extra skin after all these years. Maybe I do trust people to be/say/do what they claim - is that wrong?
This weekend has been a(nother) wake up call. All the bleating "Come back Jingle" - like the Wild Things ("Oh please don't go we love you so") for what? All of 36 hours before the reincarnation of rosesarered? And icepan 11111 whoever you are - what sad sort of existence do you lead if this is the best you can come up with?
I am sure GNHQ do have better things to do than police this site as if we were naughty kids having a crafty fag behind the bike sheds. To say I am disgruntled is perhaps an overstatement - but I am certainly not gruntled!

I find it insulting that someone can create a thread and watch the gnashing of teeth and wailing whilst, at the same time coming back and posting under another name [if that has happened]. And I also don't understand why it is found to be clever/amusing as I feel that people are being manipulated.

As Riverwalk says, there were some funny posts on the Younger Man thread, whoever started it. It was a bit of lightheartedness at the end of a rather trying day! (So of course, it had to go...wink)

I'm off to have a look at the Style and Beauty thread. I normally give that one a miss because my idea of style and beauty is a cheap as chips moisturiser (I haven't used chip fat yet but never say never thlwink
and anything that tucks into willies!

merlotgran Mon 21-Oct-13 13:23:05

AAAAAAGH......I meant Wellies thlshock thlblush

Elegran Mon 21-Oct-13 13:23:33

Did I notice on the "Younger Man" thread that someone had had a PM containing a proposition? It may have been somewhere else, but if it was on that thread, HQ must have traced the poster.

Ana Mon 21-Oct-13 13:25:03

merlot! Freudian slip? grin

gracesmum Mon 21-Oct-13 13:37:28

merlotgran Mon 21-Oct-13 13:41:53

gracesmum Mon 21-Oct-13 13:47:04

merlotgran Mon 21-Oct-13 15:03:08
