Is this really on? I can understand it if someone has posted something rude, cruel or unnecessarily outrageous, but not when someone has simply given advice which they believe to be relevant and useful.

Surely there is no pecking order on here? Everyone sees situations differently.

I resent the holier than thou attitude of some posters.

I honestly think this website is driving me absolutely potty. shock

No idea Berylbee. Forgive me if I don't Google.

One thing, and one thing only, was out of order. And I suggested it should be deleted, and it was.

Anything I have said was fine.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jan-14 19:51:33

I meant anything else.

"He is a phenomenon most of us have met in life: a hybrid who combines the delicate frailness of the Mimosa, crumbling at a touch when his own feelings are hurt, with the thick-skinned robustness of the elephant trampling over the feelings of others."

Grossly unfair in this case in my opinion, BerylB! hmm

Stansgran Tue 14-Jan-14 20:04:36

I think jingle bells speaks straight from the heart whereas Jess has a well screwed on head. I'm always an avid reader of their posts .

BerylBee Tue 14-Jan-14 20:05:13

Not sure what you mean, Ana
I've not been around for long, but I feel if we had more
posters like jinglbellsfrocks
have I got it right this time?
the site would benefit.

Ana Tue 14-Jan-14 20:10:24

You mentioned the word mimophant, BerylBee, and I presumed you felt it applied to jingl by the way you asked if it meant anything to her. Apologies if that was incorrect - what exactly did you mean?

Ariadne Tue 14-Jan-14 20:12:31

None of what about, Nonu?

One thing I like about Gransnet is all the wonderful, strong willed, opinionated, intelligent, knowledgeable, good hearted, supportive people who, through having lived long often very challenging lives, are able to give brilliant common sense advise. Sometimes it comes over a bit brusque perhaps, and often opinions differ but nonetheless it's well meant and gives the recipient food for thought to help solve their predicament.

Ariadne Tue 14-Jan-14 20:18:01

Oh.

Soutra Tue 14-Jan-14 20:24:16

You didn't upset me either Aka although Ana did imply that I should have been more gainfully employed. I won't bore you with all I did manage to achieve wink

thatbags Tue 14-Jan-14 20:35:57

Oh, go on, soutra! I'll bore you with my achievements today: shredded greens from fallen tree, split wood in a dead effective way that I've just learned, did some ironing and didn't feel ill afterwards (that is significant but I won't bore people's socks off with that), finished a temari, stuck to a low carb diet (not to lose weight, to see if it affects blood pressure; some say it does).

Nonu Tue 14-Jan-14 20:39:41

Cripes Bags I thought I was the only one who ironed .
Seems you have joined my little club !
WOW!

thatbags Tue 14-Jan-14 20:46:38

I only iron hankies, napkins, teatowels and pillowcases, nonu, so i think I can only be a demi-member wink

thatbags Tue 14-Jan-14 20:47:30

Oh! and patchwork quilt tops when I'm making them.

Soutra Tue 14-Jan-14 20:47:49

Oooh well, did a load of laundry, walked the dog, cleaner and I moved (long) garden table out of our dining room back to garage and brought dining table back in. Reason? Garden table will seat 14, dining table won't and that was my last item in the "getting back to normal after C mas" list , checked booking for travel to Scotland for a funeral at the end of the week, checked hotel reservation, booked dog into kennels and of course I didnt spend any time at all on GN!!! Oh stil trying to nag DH into doing his tax return but it's like a teenager and homework - every time I turn my back he's playing games on the computerangry

newist Tue 14-Jan-14 20:51:33

Could someone please explain this new word I have just read, I have not heard of it before, and am to lazy to google it. The word is Iron

Ana Tue 14-Jan-14 20:56:34

All I said was that some people spend more time on here than others!
For all I know you could have been doing a juggling act while washing up, ironing and de-fleaing the dog all at the same time, Soutra - nothing personal was implied in my post! wink

BerylBee Tue 14-Jan-14 21:05:16

Have just come back on to see what was happening,
and I'm smiling.
What a lovely bunch of lads you are . .

Ana Tue 14-Jan-14 21:06:23

You're such a wag, Beryl hmm

Soutra Tue 14-Jan-14 21:48:46
