Are you sure it will be this bad if I make, and eat, Nigella' s Guinness and chocolate cake? sad

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 18-Mar-14 13:26:44

Actually, I'm not that bothered... I had a double chocolate muffin with custard instead.

(DH doesn't understand the combination, but a muffin is a type of cake, right?)

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 18-Mar-14 13:24:06

Very good.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Mar-14 18:27:03

To drink rest of Guinness, or add to stew tomorrow. That is the question. #anyboozeinastorm

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Mar-14 18:25:29

Oh yes! I forgot that.

#uptoeyesinstickiness

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 17-Mar-14 18:21:58

Just looked out of the window and can't see any drunk horses [disappointed emoticon]

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 17-Mar-14 18:21:10

jings I have tried it once. The cake - not bad. The icing I could have happily eaten for the rest of my days in. To die for. (Actually if I ate it for the rest of my days it would probably be a case of dying from - but it is soooooooooo good.)

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Mar-14 18:20:52

Cari get orf my cake thread.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Mar-14 18:18:54

Just had a quick peep. It's risen up like a souffle! Still very wobbly though.

Ana it's bound to be horse. (Irish)

Anne58 Mon 17-Mar-14 18:18:29

As you were, men. Just seen Cari's already covered it.

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 17-Mar-14 18:18:19

In charge of Gransnet? No we have bolted the doors.

In general? Yes many, many "merry" people in the vicinity who should clearly be following our recipes to soak up some of their excesses

<realises walk to work tomorrow morning will be a case of dodge the pool of vomit>

The joys of London life eh?

Anne58 Mon 17-Mar-14 18:17:00

Could "stewed" in this context mean pissed slightly inebriated, tipsy squiffy etc?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Mar-14 18:16:45

grin

Cari you have got to try this one. It's gonna be delicious, whether I cut or pour it. grin

Ana Mon 17-Mar-14 18:16:03

What about the stewed hordes, Cari? hmm

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 17-Mar-14 18:15:31

Apparently "stewed" is a polite way of saying pissed grin

Not a drop has passed our lips though sad

The penalty for being stewed drunk in charge of Gransnet is no cake for a month

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 17-Mar-14 18:13:36

I just licked the table to get the last bit up. shockblush

Will not lick floor.

This is where I really wish this was a photo thread

Dragonfly1 Mon 17-Mar-14 18:09:20

If you google stewed hordes it appears to be a virtual food in the online World of Warcraft community. Surely that can't be right???

Ana Mon 17-Mar-14 17:58:57

Perhaps it's hordes of wildebeest. Is stewed wildebeest a popular Irish dish? confused

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Mar-14 17:55:31

Stewed? confused
