Gransnet, the social networking site for Britain's 14 million grandparents, today announced a range of new initiatives to appeal to younger users, including a new logo and a more relaxed attitude to offensive language on its forums.

The irony is that when I saw the headline my initial thought was "What A Good Idea". As a male gransnetter I have always thought that the name is slightly sexist and discourages a lot of grandads for participating. So when I read a little more and could see that it was obviously a wind-up I was a bit disappointed.
At the risk of sounding (well, I'm not sure what) I'm a bit worried by what some members might have found if they had been unfamiliar with an acronym/term in the OP and had Googled it!
